American gymnast Sunisa “Suni” Lee had been absent from competitions for a few months. The 2020 Olympic champion had explained the reason for her absence as a serious health condition. However, her fans have been anticipating her return for quite some time. Finally, Suni shared an update on her Instagram account which also excites her fans that she has resumed her training.

Suni Lee is back at the gym training for the U.S. Classic scheduled for the 4-5 August. The young gymnast wants to get back in shape before the 2024 Paris Olympics. This small piece of information has excited her fans who were eagerly waiting for her comeback from a long time.

Sunisa Lee gained fame by winning the gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After that, she moved to Auburn University, where she began competing in college-level gymnastic events. However, she had to abandon the sophomore season in the middle due to a kidney issue. In April, the star athlete announced the news in a tweet that read, “My focus at this time is my health and recovery”. Since then, she has been getting treatment and taking the necessary time to recover. Now, Suni Lee is thrilled to return to the sport she loves.

Suni answered a few fan questions on her Instagram stories. One of the questions was about her plans to return to the competition. In response, Suni expressed her excitement to return to the competition and stated that she is working hard to regain her strength. She mentioned feeling nervous about the comeback and that the past couple of months have been difficult. In the same Instagram story, she added that she is “in & out of gym due to my kidneys,” but that hasn’t affected her excitement.?Now, the Hmong American has set her eyes on the future.
