Laurie Hernandez is apologizing to her parents for competing in top-tier gymnastics! Hernandez, a 1x Olympic gold medalist, bid adieu to competitive gymnastics in 2021. However, she is still very much interested in soaking in all the thrills of the gymnastics world. Which is why, Hernandez was recently spotted at the gymnastics trials of Team USA.
Appearing in an interview, Laurie Hernandez stated that she was very much happy to be retired. With the tensions hitting sky-high at the trials, Hernandez felt relieved that she did not have to go through similar emotions anymore. She further apologized to her parents for making them watch her trials and escalating their blood pressure momentarily in the process.

Hernandez stated, “I’m so glad I’m retired, I’ve never been so happy to be retired. to my parents. This is a formal apology for making you watch me. It’s so tense out here. I mean, I feel like I’ve had a tummy of it the whole night and I’m not competing. The stakes are so high. They’ve worked so hard for this and you can see it in their work.” Meanwhile, Laurie Hernandez has one particular name in her mind that she thinks will definitely make it to Paris.

Laurie Hernandez confident about Simone Biles’ chances
Hernandez was a part of the ‘Final Five’ that clinched the gold medal at the Rio Olympics. She also won the silver medal competing in the balance beam in 2016. And rounding off the year with yet another victory, Hernandez was crowned the proud winner of the Pacific Rim Championships. Thus, when an athlete of such credibility makes a prediction, it carries significant weight.

And since she competed on the same team as Simone Biles, Hernandez knows the exact prowess she possesses. Speaking about Biles’ chances for Paris, Hernandez looked utterly confident. She said, “Simone is a big name that will always keep popping up, she’s just a surefire for Team USA [in Paris], to know that she’s going to go out there and be consistent.”
The retired Olympian then went on to rationalize her words by analyzing Biles’ gymnastics style. Hernandez deduced, “Her difficulty is so high, and she really is one of the best. You can count on her. You know you’re going to watch greatness when her name pops up.” Thus, it is pretty evident that even after retirement, Hernandez is pretty much engrossed in gymnastics.
