‘I’m Horrible’: Simone Biles Confesses Bad Habit She Relies on Jonathan Owens to Manage

Even Simone Biles isn’t great at everything. While 7 Olympic gold medals seal the 27-year-old gymnast’s GOAT status, there are areas in which even she doesn’t like to tread over. With the festive season around the corner, you’d imagine Simone would want to do everything right to celebrate the time to its fullest. And yet, there’s one daunting task she would like to leave to NFL star husband Jonathan Owens.

The gifts are almost as important as Christmas: the thrill of ripping the wrappings to find the treasures inside and then glee about the new totems of happiness in your life. But it seems like Biles would rather cede the responsibilities of one particular task to her husband instead of doing it herself.

Simone Biles appeared for an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show on December 12 where she talked about how her holiday spirits are dampened by one particular thing. When the host asked the gymnastics icon if she enjoys wrapping or unwrapping gifts more, the latter unabashedly said she enjoys the wrapping part rather than the other option.

“Unwrapping, I am a horrible wrapper,” said Biles with a shy grin on her face, as the crowd candidly accepted her reasoning with a loud applause nonetheless. Simone also revealed how she relies on Owens to help her with the chore to make sure everyone gets their presents neatly wrapped: “ I don’t care what it is. Everything goes in bags, I’ll make Jonathan wrap his own Christmas presents,” she uninhibitedly said.

While the audience was ready to give the world’s greatest gymnast a hall pass for her poor wrapping skills, Clarkson expressed her disdain at how her mind rebels when someone gives her a gift in a bag. “When someone hands me a bag…I am like, ‘So you threw this together?’,” the host joked, and Biles scurried to find her poise to revert back to the jibe by confessing once again that she’s genuinely bad at it. But just because she’s bad at it doesn’t mean Biles doesn’t like to spread Christmas joy, even if she doesn’t get to spend it with her beloved!

Simone Biles’ life always has something special for Christmas

Last year, the country’s most decorated gymnast of all time joined hands with GK Elite and Speith to give her fans the opportunity to get themselves a GOAT-special gymnastic mat. The Olympian was over the moon about how her accolades were being hailed for their top-tier status and promised that her fans would get to own a part of the journey by taking Speith’s sale offer. But nothing can hardly compare with the heaving emotions that Simone feels to have her beau beside her during the holiday season.

The Houston native has spent a lot of time on the road in 2024. From the Olympic Team Trials to the 2024 Paris Games: her fixation on compensating for the Tokyo incident has kept Biles at the gym for a considerable time. Unsurprisingly, the dedication paid off in stellar style as Simone walked away from the City of Love with 4 Olympic medals (3 gold, and 1 silver), and completed her redemption arc in triumphant style. Reclaiming the top spot again, Biles has little time to rest. She hoped back on the bus to lead the country’s top gymnasts for the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour, cris-crossing the country for over two months. During all this time, both Biles and Owens wriggled out time to catch up and spend some time together.

The duo loves to be in each other’s embrace during this time. On their 3rd Christmas together, Biles noted her joy of being in close proximity to Jonathan on social media. But this year, it looks like their hectic schedule is again going to play spoilsport. Owens and the Chicago Bears will face the Seattle Seahawks on December 26, which means the football safety will have to keep himself submerged in training during Christmas as well. “Sure, it’s tough being apart, but we’ve been through this before,” Biles said about the situation. On the other hand, Simone has been chosen by DICK’S Sporting Goods to keep herself busy by decorating one of its stores.
