The 4-time Olympic gold medalist accomplished a lot off the mats as well. She finally married her long-time beau and fiancée, the NFL player Jonathan Owens. Now, as the rumors of her making a mega-comeback have been confirmed, the Olympic gymnast has decided to share another exciting debate about her personal life.

After her childhood home was put on the market for sale, in 2020, Simone Biles bought herself an expensive new home for herself in Texas. Despite being stringent with spending money, with the first cheque she ever wrote, she bought herself her dream. Although, now that the newlyweds are settling into their new life, they have decided to build a new abode for themselves. Another dream is finally becoming a reality, as per Simone Biles’ latest social media update.

How Simone Biles went from spending nothing to spending a lot

Over the years, the Olympic gymnast has been able to amass a great amount of fortune. The $16 million worth athlete is one of the highest-paid female athletes in the country. Despite her riches, Simone Biles has always been a frugal spender. However, her current update directly contradicts this stand. Recently, she took to her Instagram to share a sneak peek of her new house with Jonathan Owens.

The NFL player and the iconic gymnast are building a new home together after their marriage. Earlier in the year, Biles shared an update on her social media, announcing that she and her then-fiancee are breaking ground on the site where they have decided to build their new home. Now, she has shared pictures on her Instagram stories to reveal that the skeleton of her house is being put up currently. And from the looks of it, it will probably cost more than the 42 million mansion she had earlier.

Along with sharing a video of the construction site, Biles wrote, “I can’t believe we are building our dream home.” Jonathan Owens also shared a clip of the event on his Instagram stories, and wrote, “Going up!! Slowly but surely”. The opulence of the house seems surprising, considering the fact that not that long ago, Biles was scared of spending money to the extent of going broke.

The fear of being broke

In an interview with Kneading Dough, Biles revealed that she is scared to spend too much money. She said, “I have a fear of going broke. Sometimes I go on days to see if I can’t spend any money. But then, of course, my gas light comes on. So I have to go get gas.” At the time, Biles would only spend money where it was absolutely necessary. However, seems like she has overcome that fear, especially when it comes to houses.

Biles wrote the very first cheque for her down payment. The Texas mansion that Simone Biles got after her childhood home sold was for a sum of  $750,000. In addition to that, Biles herself made many modifications and built a pool as well. And now, it seems like she is leaving no stone unturned to build the perfect home with her new husband.
