Simone Biles must have really enjoyed her stay in Paris earlier this year. Why wouldn’t she? The gymnast ended up winning 4 Olympic medals, taking her total tally to 11. It only acted as a testament to the fact that Biles is far ahead of her competitors and most definitely can claim to be ‘The GOAT’. The star gymnast’s achievements show that she is a special talent and should be treated as such!
According to her husband, Jonathan Owens, this is definitely the case. Because his wife was treated and welcomed so specially, he also really enjoyed his time in Paris. Ahead of the Chicago Bears game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Jonathan Owens has talked about his experience accompanying ‘the world’s most decorated gymnast’ in Paris.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, “You know, my wife was the star of the show. I just felt like I was spoiled. I got VIP treatment around there and really got the chance to see the city and experience the art, the culture, and the history of Paris. It was amazing.”

Now that the Paris experience is over, Jonathan is back to his main job of being an NFL player. Simone Biles’ husband has traveled with his NFL team, the Chicago Bears, to London for their match against the Jacksonville Jaguars. As it’s a busy fixture schedule, players haven’t got much time for themselves.
However, the Bears safety really enjoys being in the UK and traveling. Jonathan describes it as an amazing experience and is excited to play in front of a non-American crowd, just like his wife at the Olympics. Other than playing, he also enjoys shopping in the UK!
“The shopping is pretty dope. You have to keep the main thing (the game) as the main thing here, but you get to experience a little bit so that would be nice. Honestly, my favorite part is being in the culture,” he affirmed.
But the best part for Owens is the culture. Jonathan loves hearing people’s accents and seeing historic buildings. “I was always a big history guy in school, so I like seeing all the buildings,” Biles’ husband explained. Thus, with the Paris Olympics finally over, the footballer can now concentrate on plying his trade and the perks that come with it.
After all, he was the biggest pillar of support for Simone Biles during the global sporting competition, which ended up being immensely successful for her and the country as a whole.

Jonathan Owens talks about supporting Simone Biles: “It’s hard being in the public eye”
Netflix released the trailer for Simone Biles: Rising: Season 2 on October 4th. Many snippets were showcased to fans, which gave them an idea of what this edition’s theme would revolve around. During this, an interesting topic caught their eye. Jonathan Owens, Simone’s husband, revealed how he took on the responsibility of being the gymnast’s support system during this tough campaign.
He said, “You want to be the most human you can be with each other ’cause it’s hard being in the public eye.” The gymnast was entering Paris with the wounds of Tokyo still fresh, where her campaign was disrupted by mental blockage, preventing her from completing her moves perfectly.

“I cried for her, knowing all the work that they put in. Usually, it’s once every 4 years, so just imagine, the pressure for them … ‘if I mess this up, I won’t get another chance for 4 years,'” Owens had said in June after Biles won the all-around title at the U.S. Gymnastics Team Trials.
Needless to say, coming into this year’s Olympics, she needed love and compassion along with the endless motivation she was already receiving from the fanbase. Safe to say, Jonathan Owens took that responsibility and helped facilitate his wife toward victory.

The NFL star has often been criticized for his rash comments about Simone Biles during interviews. For example, during his appearance on the Pivot podcast, the player implied that he was the ‘catch’ of the relationship.
This resulted in fans coming flying into the gymnast’s defense and incessantly trolling her hubby. However, after Paris, fans may have had a change of heart, as he really seemed to be her biggest supporter on and off the court. This will probably be witnessed in more detail in the documentary, which releases on October 25th. Will it live up to the quality of the first season? What do you think?
