Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson is all the kids at the moment. Recently, she elicited giggles and laughter with her hilarious pregnancy posts on social media. Now, she has shifted her attention from her own kids to those who need it the most. 

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides free treatment to children suffering from terminal diseases. The hospital borrowed its name from one of the Lord’s twelve apostles. Saint Jude was the “patron saint of hopeless causes”. Well, not anymore, as Shawn Johnson has joined hands with multiple celebrities in this season of giving. 

Stars join hands for a worthy cause

The 2008 Olympic gold medalist shared a heartfelt plea on her Instagram story. In the plea, Johnson wrote, “Please donate to St Jude if you can! It’s something near and dear to our hearts”. She had also prepared a gift bag for the kids at St. Jude to uplift their spirits and bring Christmas cheer to them. Shawn Johnson had all the help she needed from the athletic community, as Olympic snowboarding legend Shaun White also championed the cause. In an absolute show of support, White became part of a beautiful video message saying, “Join me in supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital”. However, he was not alone in giving back to the community this festival season. 

Ellen DeGeneres, Meghan Trainor, and Ashley Tisdale also joined in the efforts to spread joy and make a difference. They appeared alongside Shaun White in the video message uploaded on the hospital’s Instagram page with a note of thanks that read, “we’re grateful for the support! who’s ready for Giving Tuesday???” The unlikely partnership between the sporting and entertainment world was fueled by passion and purpose.

A powerful message of giving back to the community

Shawn Johnson, Ellen DeGeneres, Meghan Trainor, and Ashley Tisdale are known for their philanthropy and dedication to making a positive impact on the world. Thus, when the opportunity presented itself to cherish the poor children at the hospital, they went all out. These women transformed into fairy godmothers at a moment’s notice and used their fame to bring more eyeballs to the cause. During the montage, all four stars invoked the charitable side of the viewers with their heartwarming words.

The children also received gifts that should take their minds off their suffering. The children at St Jude do not ask for much, just some love and kindness this joyous season.
