As the well-deserving US women’s team roster, led by Simone Biles, stepped foot on the World Artistic Gymnastics Championship mat, a worthy teammate cheered from a distance. Besides the GOAT’s all-around win, Shilese Jones and Leanne Wong made their marks as well. With a remarkable 167.729, the US women clinched the team gold. But the absence of the 20-year-old artistic gymnast felt real. Though never losing hope in her Paris plans, the 2019 World Championship silver medalist was bound to sit out.?

Sunisa Lee, the 2020 Olympic all-around gold medalist, had some misfortunes lined up for her. For a brief period, Lee chose collegiate-level gymnastics over elite, but her fate took a sad turn. She had been diagnosed with a non-gymnastics-related kidney issue, probably incurable, costing her the NCAA season. Earlier in February 2023, she woke to swelled-up feet, which later on affirmed her career at stake. Currently functioning with the help of a robust medication regime, Suni brightens herself up with some adorable gifts.

Earlier today, Sunisa Lee took to her Instagram handle to post pictures of some skincare gifts she had received. The USA-based luxury cosmetics brand Hourglass decided to celebrate one of the most celebrated gymnasts with their exclusive hampers. Sunisa Lee’s story says, “Omg… in heaven, THANK YOU @hourglasscosmetics.” She paired the caption with two white heart emojis. The photo features a card box consisting of various goods, including glossy balm, lightening blush, waterproof gel eyeliner, and more.

Moreover, the cruelty-free, vegan brand has customizable and curated sets to cater to the needs of star athletes like Suni. Furthermore, her second gift box looked more alluring. She captioned the story as “thank you @naturiumskin, sooo excited.” The photo features a handful of beauty products including lip balms, exfoliators, sun-screen, body lotion, and cleanser. That’s everything a gymnast needs as a necessity.

In a combined stock and cash deal, the iconic E.l.f Beauty acquired the skincare brand Naturium for $355 million. The clinically effective, cruelty-free brand just upped its game with a more reasonable retail price than E.l.f. Having reached an 80% compound annual growth rate, Naturium’s vision perfectly aligns with the athletic mindset.

Suni might not be very high-spirited in terms right now, but her skincare game is on. Besides, the 20-year-old supported her teammates consistently, as the US women’s gymnasts unfurled their victory flag in Belgium.

Suni kept Simone Biles and her squad in her prayers

After the men’s qualifying round, it was time for the women to shine through. Lee took to her Instagram handle to post a story, conveying her supportive words, but in silence. Earlier that day, USA Gymnastics had posted the photo of the final team roster, having Simone, Shilese, Skye Blakely, and others in it.

The absence of any caption or emojis spoke volumes. As the 20-year-old’s health issues are concerned, there is a big disheartenment behind the smile. Playing it safe throughout the US Hydration Core Classics, Suni mindfully withdrew from the Selection Camp. Earlier this year, she held her ground strong and stated, “My focus at this time is my health and recovery. It’s been challenging to end my Auburn career early, but I am thankful for all of the love & support.”

Even after several physical setbacks, she said, “I’m super proud of myself.” After prioritizing health over competition, the Olympian looks forward to writing another golden history after 4 years. Like Simone, Suni has set her sights beforehand.
