What do you think of Simone Biles' latest endeavor?

Hold on to your horses as Simone Biles is here with an amazing opportunity! On the eve of her husband, Jonathan Owens’ clash with his former team, the Green Bay Packers—with whom he played for one season in 2023—the gymnast will be on the sideline cheering for her beau like a doting wife. But that’s not all, as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity awaits, which can also be seen as a perfect marketing move to bolster NFL’s one of the most awaited clashes. But before we talk about that smart business move…

As per the latest update on Barefoot Wine’s—which is also NFL’s official wine sponsor—Biles will be collaborating with the brand to extend an exclusive chance to four fans to accompany her on Game Day. Ahead of the Chicago Bears’ clash against the Green Bay Packers on November 17, Biles took to Instagram to announce, “No matter what team you’re rooting for, Game Day should be easy to enjoy. That’s why I’m teaming up with Barefoot Wine…to host one lucky fan and their three besties on November 17…I’m so excited to give you the full WAG game day experience..,” parts of her monologue said. Now, if you’re wondering how to get your hands on the experience, it’s simple…

The contest starts at 12:00:00 ET on 10/24/24 and end at 11:59:59 ET on 10/31/24. But what takes this collaboration a notch above the rest?

Well, for the unversed: The Packers and Chicago Bears’ rivalry hits too close to home for the Olympic gymnast. Yes, her husband is an ex-Packers player, but that’s not where the controversy stems from. In a major sports fashion faux pas in August this year, the 27-year-old attended a Bears game wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket. The accessory in question was decorated with collages of her husband, and even flaunted a huge Packers logo on the shoulder pad. However, much to Biles’ dismay, the unintentional move invited a barrage of online criticism, with one of the comments on social media reading, “It’s ridiculously unaware of your surroundings and insulting to her husband.”

Later, Biles also addressed the situation in a hilarious way. When asked by TMZ if she got her hands on “Bears gear yet?” a month later, the Olympic medalist replied back, “I have plenty now! So don’t you worry guys,” while walking and laughing. And looks like she’s found a way to capitalize on the publicity she got from the mishap back then. But is Simone really using the perfect marketing tactic? Well, if you ask Stephanie Gallo, Barefoot Wine’s parent company GALLO’s chief marketing officer, the collaboration is more of a personal affair than a business tactic.

In a conversation with Forbes, Gallo explained, “It just makes sense that we’d want to team up with Simone Biles, one of the most awarded athletes of all time. She brings excitement and interest to the game, making her an ideal ‘WAG’ to partner with this season.

Simone also has an intriguing personal connection to the game we’re activating, Green Bay at Chicago on November 17 as her husband, who plays for the Chicago Bears, is matching up against his former team, the Green Bay Packers.” Truth be told, it also does help that the two teams had been bitter rivals since 1921 when the Chicago beat the Packers 20-0 in their first ever clash. Since then, the two teams have played 208 games—the most in NFL history—with Green Bay leading with 107 wins over their opponent’s 95 wins and six ties. The last time the duo met was on January 7 this season, as the Jordan Love-led team moved to the playoffs with a 17-9 win over the Bears.

Well, whatever the case, four fans will get their day absolutely made on November 17. On the flip side, thanks to her husband’s NFL connection, Biles’ endorsement are branching out toward America’s biggest sport. But collaborative efforts aside, what does Simone Biles think of NFL as a whole? Does she love it or hate it? Let’s find out…

Simone Biles discussed NFL and breaks silence on former Packers player

Ever since Simone Biles tied the knot with Bears safety Jonathan Owens in 2023, she’s become quite the hot topic in NFL circles. With her attending games regularly, she’s picked up on the fierce rivalry between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. It’s even more interesting because Owens played for the Packers last season before switching to the Bears this year, making their matchups even more exciting and bringing Biles right into the middle of all the action!

In an early October appearance on the “Not Just Football with Cam Heyward” podcast, Biles shared her thoughts on the NFL, acknowledging the impressive talent she’s seen. When asked about players who stood out to her, she praised Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes as a “freak of nature” and highlighted her husband’s journey in the league as inspiring.

Biles also mentioned Jordan Love, former Packers quarterback, noting the respect she still has for him despite the rivalry. “You can’t hate them after you leave! You still have so much respect for the team,” she said. While Biles promised to be more mindful of her wardrobe choices in the future, her appreciation for the game and the players remains outstanding, even as the rivalry heats up. Whether Bears fans will embrace her newfound perspective remains to be seen.
