Whenever trouble strikes, mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent ditches his glasses, takes a deep breath, and transforms into Superman. In the same way, Stephen Nedoroscik—glasses on, deep breathing before a competition—ditches his cool, calm demeanor to deliver thrilling performances on the pommel horse. The ‘Clark Kent of gymnastics‘ went from winning bronze at the Paris Olympics to dazzling on Dancing with the Stars, where his charm and moves quickly made him a fan favorite. But on Wednesday, Stephen returned to familiar territory, showcasing another undercover talent!
The double Olympic bronze medalist was invited to the Sports Travel Awards, where he faced off against professional Rubik’s cube solver Dylan Sadiq. And guess what? Stephen solved the cube before Dylan, and the crowd went wild. After the win, he took to X to shout out Dylan, writing, “So cool meeting this legend!!” Dylan is famous for creating artwork using Rubik’s cubes, and of course, he made one of Stephen—who definitely appreciated it more than most. Why?
Because Stephen’s love for the cube runs deep. Before his pommel horse final in Paris, he wasn’t scrolling through his phone or stressing out; nope, he was busy solving Rubik’s cubes. “I probably solved it about 100 times, maybe even more than that,” he admitted. For Stephen, it’s not just a fun hobby—it’s a way to stay in the moment and calm his nerves before big competitions. So, that hidden Rubik’s cube talent? Yeah, it’s not so hidden anymore!
