In the gymnastics world, where gymnasts usually retire in their early 20s or after graduating from college, one Uzbekistani artistic gymnast has defied all odds. She began her career in 1989, long before any of her formidable contenders were even born. With two Olympic medals to her name, she stands as one of the 18 Olympians, and one of only six females, to have graced eight different Olympics.
As the Paris 2024 Olympics drew near, she was vying for her ninth Olympic showdown. However, in a heartfelt move, she has made a huge sacrifice, paving the way for the younger generation after announcing an exciting update on her road to Paris.
