“Talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family. Never.” Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens‘ relationship gossip reached extremes and at last, Biles ditched her graceful self! For a long time, she has tried to calmly address the plethora of disparaging comments directed toward her loving husband, Jonathan Owens. But possibly that had reached a tipping point. Fresh off claiming her seventh Core Hydration Classic title, Biles took it head-on in her latest Instagram story and her frank remark revealed a side that was rarely seen before.

In powerful defense of the Chicago Bears’ safety and her relationship, Biles posted on her story, “I’m going to quickly address this, the joke was never a joke! Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship & my husband. So I’m gonna go ahead & say this one time. Respectfully, f*ck off.” Simone made it clear that she was no longer going to put up with the disrespect and that it had reached an unacceptable point.”If you keep commenting or tweeting at me I’m just going to block you. Simple as that,” she continued.

The persistent digs from the followers forced her to take a stand, even though she tried to concentrate on her profession and personal happiness. She asserted, “And no, I don’t need to touch grass or whatever tf y’all suggest.” But this fuming did not completely make Simone forget the love she has garnered over the years from this very community.

Keeping that in mind, Simone ended her post on a positive note, “@everyone else that support us, we love y’all so much” with a love emoji. It seems that Jonathan’s appearance in the stands during the Core Hydration, a first such instance, had a role to play in Simone gathering the confidence to come out this straight.

Just when Simone Biles appeared on the sidelines tonight, before warming up for her schedules, she shared a glance with Jonathan Owens, seated with Nellie Biles, Simone’s mother, in the stands. Later, the proud husband erupted in joy watching Simone landing the emphatic vault routines and collecting praise from the full house. Biles posted an all-around score of 59.500 (vault – 15.600, floor exercise – 14.800, balance beam – 14.550, and uneven bars – 14.550).

Notably, after standing beside Simone at the XL Center, Jonathan went hand-in-hand with Simone on the virtual platform as well. He also took his Instagram to post his bit on the matter.

In his Instagram story, Jonathan reshared Simone’s statement and added, “If yall gone support, support!!! If not respectfully keep scrolling… Cause being fake mad about people yall don’t know from a can of paint is weirdo behavior.”

This outburst is absolutely not unnatural since it is the culmination of months of unwarranted opinions and comments the couple had to face. But initially, they maintained their demeanor, trying to gracefully explain their points without much success. Let us take a look.

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens’ explanations fell on deaf ears for long

A few days after commenting “I always say men are the catch” in the Pivot podcast, Jonathan appeared in Steven Nelson’s Corner Suite podcast. By that time, the online trial had started. So Jonathan tried to clear the air saying, “The comment I made was like jokingly [made] but people took it so seriously.” Not only the catch comment, Jonathan was also grilled for not being familiar with Simone Biles until she got really close to him.

Explaining that Jonathan stated that Simone never bragged about her success during the initial days of their relationship. So Jonathan perceived him just as another girl. To top it, as Owens revealed, around the time Simone shot to fame for her Rio Olympics heroics, he was busy with his grueling NFL college camp. He barely had the time to find out what was going on in the outside world.

A disappointed Jonathan also stated defending himself, “People judge you and they don’t have a clue about my character. If you like ask anyone about me… I like try to be a genuine person.” But those did not extinguish the raging flames of criticism. Despite Simone finding “nothing foul about it”, the enthusiasts went up to the extent of suggesting she divorce Jonathan Owens. This is something that did not sit well with Simone, who already has had previous episodes of trauma with social media.

“One night, I broke down and I’m like: ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? Like, you don’t know him. You don’t know who he is. And if anybody’s met him, they know he’s the sweetest guy and will do anything for anybody,” Simone conceded in the Call Her Daddy podcast. But, alongside on that very podcast, she revealed another side of her nature.

“I cried about it, but I’d be crying about some stuff, you know? But I’m also, I only cry about it because I can’t clap back. Just know that,” Simone had said. From the scheme of things, it seemed like the online community exploited this self-respecting side of Simone. But, on that occasion, she sounded a little firm when she warned people not to talk about her or her family. But there was no improvement in the situation. So last month Simone somewhat came out of her carefully maintained public persona.

In one of her Instagram stories, she sat with a leucoplast and said, “It’s for your mouth. Let me know if you need a bigger piece”. The background of the clip showcased some of the comments “Simone and what’s his name again”, “whose that guy”, “leave him sis”. It seemed that Jonathan’s latest appearance at the Core Hydration arena once again stirred the pot. But this time the couple did not let it go. Indeed this was long overdue!
