According to the publication by Olympics.com titled “Simone Biles on Dealing with Fame: ‘It is Still Crazy to Me, But Sometimes It is Scary,'” Biles shared that her main goal when she started gymnastics, “got into it was to do college gymnastics, but I did everything but that.” Biles’ gymnastics journey kicked off when she was just six years old during a daycare field trip that introduced her to the sport. By the time she turned 14, she decided to skip public school and switch to homeschooling so she could focus more on her training.

In 2014, then 17, Biles signed a national letter of intent to attend UCLA but chose to defer her enrollment until after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. However, just a year later, Biles made a bold move and decided to skip the traditional college experience entirely, giving up her NCAA eligibility to concentrate on her career as a professional gymnast.

Biles further expressed her excitement about finally being able to go home, which is now Chicago, and spend time with her husband, saying, “I’m really excited to go home, which will now be Chicago, and just spend time with my husband.” Since their marriage, they’ve been navigating a long-distance relationship, and with her current tour, she noted, “As soon as we got married, we’ve been long-distance the whole time, and now I’m doing this tour, so it’s like, when are we going to see each other?”‘

Simone Biles’s impressive career milestones now include a total of 41 medals from Olympic and World Championship events. Those three gold medals at the Paris Olympics stand out as achievements! Having achieved her dreams on the stage, she is excited about the prospect of sharing valuable moments with her husband, Jonathan Owens, taking into account the challenges they’ve faced since tying the knot. Their lives changed significantly when Jonathan joined the Green Bay Packers. They had to relocate after their wedding day.
