Inquiring into Yul’s stance on Coach Prime, the host asked, “Are you a Coach Prime guy? How do you feel like you’re one, for Deion?”

Following this, Yul Moldauer revealed his limited acquaintance with Sanders until his recent relocation, expressing admiration for Prime’s steadfastness in upholding his convictions. The gymnast stated, “I don’t really know Deion that well until he moved to CU and like kind of seeing the videos you know I always respect him keeping to his religion. I always like that about him.”

Moldauer further added, I think he has to focus on his coaching and making sure the players understand the goal and the mission and not let the media affect him because there was so much media around him in that school”.

Furthermore, when queried about the disparities between coaching high school and college athletes, Yul articulated a distinct contrast in dealing with athletes at these two levels.

The gymnast remarked that college athletes transition into a more independent phase, recognizing that the familiar support systems of parents and high school friends no longer play the same role. In his words, “ Your best friends that you had in high school won’t push you. It’s you and the team now, and you have to find your role on the team….Whereas when the kids who make it, you know, they think, ‘Oh, I’m good now, I’m in a great school, I’m getting free education.’ I think it’s just two different times.”

Yul highlighted the challenge of college athletes identifying their roles within the team dynamic, contrasting this with the high school scenario where the drive to excel for college placements often propels athletes to work diligently.
