Simone Biles has been one of the biggest sports stars in the US. She is hailed for many reasons, be it for her legendary performances in gymnastics or standing up for her mental health. The 25 years old is an inspiration to the youth. However, if Biles had a priority list, her family would be in the top spot. In the same vein, Biles shared an incident in her book that includes her friend Marissa and sister Adria.

The book “Courage to Soar” has been a big hit and has received many positive reviews. The book revolves around the determination of a young girl from Texas that takes her to become the greatest gymnast ever.

Simone talks about a spider incident

It has been a year since the book- “Courage to Soar” got released. It is a biography of the Olympic champion, Simone Biles, who has done wonders. In this book, she recalls an incident where her friend Marissa punched her sister, Adria. She mentions how a funny incident turned into an aggressive one when they were building a fort for themselves as kids.

The incident Biles’ talked about here is when she, her sister Adria and her two friends, Becca and Marissa, decided to build a fort. However, the spider on the ceiling had different plans. 

Simone Biles yelled at her best friend

All four girls were enjoying themselves and singing the “Cheetah Sister” song until that spider fell on Marissa. As a result, the other three girls started laughing at her. As the spider spoilt the fort construction, they decided to go and play at Marissa’s house.

But when Simone and Becca move ahead and were waiting for Adria and Marissa at the gate, Simone suddenly saw Marissa punching her sister, Adria. Seeing her sister bawling, Simone couldn’t stop herself and raced to Marissa and shoved her down. Marissa yelled, “Don’t you ever hit my sister again”.

Under those circumstances, it just came naturally to her. She felt like she had the responsibility to protect her younger sister as Tevin, her elder brother, cared for her. Although the dispute didn’t stay for long and the following morning, both apologized to each other. The two remain best friends to date.
