In the autobiography, Biles got close and personal, depicting to the readers in pristine detail her Olympic debut. Like any other new athlete, she had her nerves, but a surprising tip helped her get hold of them. That tip came from none other than veteran Olympian Aly Raisman.
Simone Biles was advised by Aly Raisman
The page opened up with a little tale where Biles recounted how she fell in love with Gymnastics as it helped her burn some energy off. To her, the flight she took on the mat was like a superpower and that was her main plus point when she debuted at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Biles was with Aly Raisman who was leading the 2016 team. It, was at this encounter, in front of a mirror, that Biles popped an important question. She asked, “What’s your best tip for doing well in Rio?”.
Aly gave a few quintessential replies at first, like remembering to breathe and such, Biles recounts. But, when Biles asked a third time, Aly shot back with something truly admirable.
She said,”…do exactly what you always do in practice…” reminding the athlete that the Olympics was merely another form of World Championships. And Aly’s concluding words of advice? “…Just don’t look up at the Olympic rings.”
How are the two Olympians doing now?

Raisman and Biles have a friendship that indeed goes way back. Raisman is currently retired and has worked in films like ‘Charlie’s Angels (2019).’ Biles is still reigning the gymnastics with her skills and prowess and both the friends have recently stood in the senate together to testify. From what the internet can understand, both of them still look out for each other. Raisman also supported Biles when she dropped out of the 2020 Olympics.
Just a friendly reminder: Olympic athletes are human & they’re doing the best they can. It’s REALLY hard to peak at the right moment & do the routine of your life under such pressure. Really hard.
