Trinity Thomas arguably has had one of the most illustrious NCAA careers, and to add to her name are the several international medals in between her collegiate career. Last year, she expressed her desire to compete at the Paris Olympics 2024, and the Winter Cup 2024 marked the first challenge of her journey. Thomas got the better of the competition inside the Kentucky International Convention on Saturday, and her coach is all praises.
The 22-year-old was part of the Florida Gators team and had one of the most successful NCAA gymnastics careers there. As she sets her eyes on the maiden Olympic medal, her coach is nothing but ‘proud’ of the Winter Cup star performer.

While Trinity Thomas is a former gymnast of Florida Gators, she is the student assistant coach of the team as well. After her dominant performance at the 2024 Winter Cup, Gators’ head coach Jenny Rowland spoke highly about the 22-year-old, and how NCCA helped her succeed.

Speaking about her health, Rowland added that she was feeling ‘okay’ and taking a ‘little breath’ after qualifying for the ‘championships’. The gymnastics coach spoke about how elite gymnastics requires mental strength to compete at the top level, ‘under pressure on a podium‘. And giving credit where it deserves, Rowland added, “5 years through NCAA season for her, really helped her compete”. And not only did she compete, she dominated the Winter Cup.

For the first part of the women’s 4 rotations at Winter Cup 2024 on Saturday, it looked like Trinity Thomas would race away with the victory. She delivered a spectacular routine in the first rotation to lead the standings with 14.050 points. The 22-year-old couldn’t maintain the excellence in the 2nd rotation and fell to 3rd position.

Thomas fell in the standings again in the 3rd rotation but rose back on the final one. She finished 4th among the 30 gymnasts with 53.250 points while the first position was secured by another Florida Gators gymnast Kayla DiCello. Thomas will be a part of the U.S. National team at the World Artistic Championships, and hopefully, at the Olympics as well.
