December 31 is nearing, and it’s time for the US gymnastics women to sum up their 2023, while also looking forward to the new season happenings. For decades, the women gymnasts of the US have been making winning strides. But since Simone Biles and her girl gang made their public appearance, they remained undefeatable. Among them, one of the most notable is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics floor champion.

Jade Carey, the 23-year-old artistic gymnast with a bag full of laurels on account of her floor and vault routines, is looking stronger this time. But the 2024 Paris Olympics are exactly seven months away, and the warmup Championships need primary focus now. Having said so, the Oregon State University gymnast has to take care of the first 2024 Championships in January.

Jade Carey focuses on the NCAA’s first

Aimee Sinacola, a popular name in the photography realm, loves to capture the gymnasts in action. So, she took to her Instagram account to post Jade Carey’s powerful displays. Captioned the post as “Do your thang. Elite and college season coming up for @jadecarey + i miss shooting gymnastics, ” which Carey shared in her story with the caption “let’s gooo”. The NCAA Championships, starting January 5, will extend its season till the mid-year. And the senior elite will probably focus on beam this time, considering her silver finish at the 2023 NCAA Championships.

Having her NCAA debut in January 2022, she secured a 39.650 all-around to clinch the title. Alongside, she also won the floor, uneven bars and vault titles. Moving on, even the second meet of the season saw her defend all the five titles in the event. In fact, it was also a history-making moment, as her all-around 39.800 was greater than the previous set score of Oregon State gymnastics. Howsoever her career statistics look right now, the most significant win of hers will be the Olympic floor gold.

Carey’s rise after an unanticipated setback

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she faced her worst nightmare in her vault stumble. But her teammates and coach dad pumped her spirits to blaze through again. Brian Carey had some motivational mantras to whisper in her ears. He had said, “You might feel like yesterday was one of the worst days of your life, but today can be one of the best days of your life.”

But the moment Carey had the Olympic medal around her neck, she started believing in her ability. She had said, “Coming back from a day like [Sunday],” said Carey, her first Olympic medal draped around her neck, “I’m really proud of myself for being able to put that behind me and finish with probably the best floor routine I’ve ever done in my life.” Jade Carey has her sight on the 2024 Paris Olympics podium.
