Simone Biles is a gymnastics juggernaut, almost impossible to take over. Her journey to the apex was not as smooth, yet, Biles clinched her 8th US championship title recently. Dominating her routines with sheer adroitness, she hoisted her victory flag at the 2023 Xfinity US Gymnastics Championship. Now, after standing atop the podium at the SAP arena, Biles is onto another staunch project.
With an agenda to motivate girls for STEM classes at school, Simone took a big hit with her clothing line – Athleta. Immediately after she concluded her victorious moments on the mat, Simone flew back to launch her Athleta Collection.

Simone Biles’ recent Girl clothing line has a greater cause
Besides being the most significant gymnast of her time, Biles loves to help uplift many social causes. In 2021, both Biles and Athleta bonded, and partook in a journey to promote inspiration, instead of just t-shirts or sports gear. The unfortunate financial losses of Gap posed a difficult challenge, but Athleta had potential.
On the official front, Gap struggled to keep up with demand, failing to stack up shelves with products. As a result, it faced a $200 million loss at the beginning of this year. Having said so, CEO Bob Martin strongly believed in Athleta and the extreme heights it could reach. Partnering with Biles helped both to identify their real voices.
In a recent Instagram post, Biles was seen posing, wearing a lavender “Because I can” t-shirt. In the caption, she penned, “A dream come true! Thank you @athleta for helping me launch my Athleta Girl line.”

The empowering message is geared toward 6 to 12-old-year girls, with a reminder to have confidence and never give up. She wants youngsters to stand-out, saying, “It helps them just put that first step forward and then keep pushing throughout the entire school year.”
Her new Athleta collection featuring tights, blares, crop t-shirts, tank tops and shorts, was released this week. Biles added, “It’s just a little reminder they can do anything they put their minds to.’ Being a staunch believer in women’s voices, Biles said that women of all ages should rocket their confidence levels.

Sole reason to break off with Nike
Biles’ values were not in tune with that of Nike’s. Three months before the Tokyo Olympics, she decided to cut ties with this brand for a reasonable cause.
Garnering her own devastating moments as a teenager, Biles wanted all the girls to refrain from shying away. Watering her thought of demanding a safer environment for young girls, she backed off from her longtime sponsor.

On account of Nike mistreating female athletes and not giving enough credibility, Biles left the billion dollar brand. She joined hands with Athleta in the wake of losing ground in 2021. “If I can do that with these clothing items, have those little hidden messages or just be straight across the chest − anything that I can help these kids with that, that’s what we’re going to do.”
