It’s been a week of one great news after the other from the latest power couple of the sports world. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and NFL safety Jonathan Owens already had enough reasons to celebrate. The couple finally got hitched in not one, but two gorgeous wedding ceremonies. While the news of the couple exchanging vows is still fresh as bread out of the oven, another terrific event in their life has come to light.

In another piece of marvelous news that is circulating about the pair, Simone Biles’ beau Jonathan Owens has signed a lucrative deal with a new NFL team. Owens is going to start the new season with brand-new teammates.

Simone Biles celebrates ‘new beginnings’ with her better half

Biles just revealed an exciting news on her Instagram account. Her husband, Jonathan Owens, has just signed a deal with the Green Bay Packers. A week after the couple exchanged vows in Cabo, Mexico, in front of 144 guests, Simone Biles shared the news on her social media on Friday.

In the picture she shared of her and Owens the caption read, “slight wedding content intermission to say GO PACK GO ???so proud of you baby! here?s to new beginnings! year 6! LFG!” Jonathan Owens also shared the news on his own account, and wrote, “New beginnings. Perfect cap to an amazing week. Let?s get to work ? Year 6 on the way??”

Owens is leaving his home team, the Houston Texans, to play for the Packers. Not that long ago, in April end, Aaron Rodgers said goodbye to his 18-year-long career with the Green Bay Packers after he was traded to the New York Jets. Rodgers joined the Packers way back in 2005 when he was drafted by the team.

Jonathan Owens: a career in the making?

Owens attended the Missouri Western State and when he passed out in 2018, he was undrafted. Owens started his career playing with the Houston Texans, and he spent the first four years of his career with the team. The NFL safety did not get much exposure or playing time during the first three years of his career. However, things changed during his fourth season.

Owens put together a solid 2022 campaign in Houston, posting four pass breakups, one sack, and 125 tackles in 17 games. On the other hand, Owens surrendered 23 receptions and three touchdowns in the 36 times he was targeted. And now, he is all set to join the Safety room for the Green Bay Packers, along with the likes of Darnell Savage and Tarvarius Moore.
