The no. 1 Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team is on a winning streak, as multiple Sooners gave their best performances on Friday night. Setting records on bars, one of the Sooners stood out with a perfect score. Five-time NCAA All-American, Jordan Bowers, was on a complete roll, as the University of Oklahoma matched against Arizona State University.

As OU gymnast Jordan Bowers tallied on the bars, she received recognition for her phenomenal performances. Resuming her composed start this season, she expressed whole-hearted gratitude after making the cut for the Sooners.

Jordan Bowers speaks volumes in a single word

Taking to her Instagram handle, Jordan Bowers posted on her handle, @jordansbowers, cherishing her glorious streak during the recent NCAA meet. Securing her first perfect 10 for OU on uneven bars, the Sooners set a program record with a score of 49.825. Posing with a count of 10 on her fingers, Bowers captioned the post, “blessed.” She did not forget to showcase the love which others have shown for her.

In her Instagram stories, she also reshared the posts wherein other Sooners and well-wishers congratulated her. One clip in her story also showed the moment of her perfect landing on the mat after the uneven bar routine that sealed the glory.

Jordan Bowers had one of the best opening night performances with a near-perfect routine. Finishing the night with a 9.900 on beam. Bowers also had a spectacular performance on the floor with a 9.975. Riding on all these performances, her all-around score accounted for 39.675.

This comes after her impeccable performance in the last season earned her second career perfect score and first on the floor routine. She also has a perfect score in the vault in the 2022 session. Besides Bowers, other Sooners also nailed the performances for OU.

Bowers’ teammates back her performance well

All four Sooner all-around competitors went on to secure a score that topped 39.600. LeVasseur had a 39.650, the second highest, and Davis went for third highest at 39.625. These also added to Bowers’ performance securing OU its 12th win over California and Arizona State. Alongside, they also made it to the records book.

Oklahoma women’s gymnasts posted a season-high this Friday night, with a score of 198.375. The competition took place in Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Ariz as OU defeated both California and Arizona State. No. 2 California had a score of 197.950, whereas  No. 23 Arizona receded to a score of 197.250. Now, the OU Sooners are gearing for the next quad meet on Feb 9, as they will be facing BYU (4-7) and Utah State (2-7) at 6:45 p.m. in Norman.
