Just a few more moments of waiting! Stephen Nedoroscik’s maiden run at the Dancing With The Stars has enthralled fans over the past couple of months. Choosing to take on a new challenge after his Paris success, the Penn State alum has been mesmerizing, to say the least. And now, as the Olympic gymnast waited to dish out his final performance at the show, his dancing partner Rylee Arnold couldn’t stop feeling a little bit of heartache.
Arnold and Nedoroscik have captivated fans with their brilliant dance routines since September. Now, as the final exhibition of their skills was nearing, there was a bittersweet feeling in the air. It seems that Rylee too wasn’t immune to the blues, sharing the sentiment with fans as they approached the final stretch of their journey.
In Arnold’s Instagram post from November 26, the professional dancer and the pommel horse specialist could be seen ready and waiting to hit the dance floor for one last time for the DWTS season finale. But with this being their last ride together, Rylee was justifiably emotional. “We are so excited and I have no idea how many times i’ll be crying tonight,” she confessed off the bat, underscoring that it was going to be an emotional rollercoaster for both of them.

“I can’t believe it’s over,” she said in the accompanying video clip while doing her best to keep herself from crying so that her makeup doesn’t get all smudged. But Stephen Nedoroscik, showing up beside Arnold with his infectious smile, consoled her that this didn’t mean the end of the road for either of them. The duo was seen waiting for their turn backstage, after their final dress rehearsal, and Arnold was finding it hard to keep a straight face.

And yet, despite all the sadness, Arnold also made it a point to let Stephen know how much she adores him. “You’re the best, Rylee” Nedoroscik was quick to respond. But the overwhelming feeling becomes too much for her and the returning DWTS star urges the Olympic medalist to help her stop, as Nedoroscik frantically asks how to do that. But despite their forced laughs, it’s not hard to understand that both Stephen and Arnold would be taking to the dance floor with heavy hearts.

On a previous occasion, the gymnast had noted that seeing him at Dancing With The Stars was a special source of joy for his grandmother. In fact, she adored it so much, that Nedoroscik even kept a special souvenir to gift her after the show. “She’s a big fan of the show. It was kind of her dream that I was on it,” he said, and the gesture made Arnold gush. In the weeks during the show, the gymnastics celebrity kept coming up with new looks keeping parity with their song choices, and fans couldn’t believe all the different avatars of the Superman lookalike even existed.
But the thrilling run was coming to an end, and fast. In the hours leading up to the final couple of performances, Arnold had been chronicling their journey with emotional social media updates. Despite all the smiles for the camera, her quivering emotions cannot go unnoticed, and the final result only made things sadder. Nedoroscik and Arnold placed fourth, while The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei and pro dancer Jenna Johnson picked up the winners’ trophy. Olympic rugby star Ilona Maher came in third with her partner Alan Bersten. But who was the winner for you? Tell us below!
