The LSU Tigers lifted its first NCAA Championship trophy in program history in Fort Worth, Texas, with a total score of 198.225 to defeat California, which made 197.850. Olivia Dunne and her team had started great with its first five scores of 9.90 or higher in its most known floor routine. Dunne’s boyfriend, Paul Skenes, who, unlike Livvy, is not very active on social media, could not let this go unnoticed. He therefore took to his Instagram to celebrate the victory of the LSU gymnastics team.
In the recent Instagram story of Paul Skenes, he had reshared the LSU Tigers being the 2024 National Champions. This triumphant moment marked the 52nd in LSU’s athletic history and the eighth program in NCAA history. With Utah (197.800) and Florida (197.4375) as runners-up, the LSU Tigers delivered their highest ever in their floor and beam routines.

Though the Olivia Dunne team dropped down to the second position by a slim margin in its third rotation, led by Utah, the team gathered its tone in the fourth and final rotation. Sierra Ballard, Kiya Johnson, Aleah Finnegan, and Haleigh Bryant scored a 9.95 each to seal the historic victory in the name of the LSU Tigers. Olivia Dunne, after the historic win, could not refrain from sharing the winning words, ‘Best day ever’ on her Instagram. Notably, this is not the first time Paul Skenes has come out in support of Olivia Dunne.

Back in February, Olivia was competing in a meet against Arkansas Razorbacks. Livvy had finished the uneven bars routine with a score of 9.775 on that occasion. In a clip circulated by LSU Gymnastics, Paul Skenes was found to be present in the audience, cheering Livvy with a smiling face. As the LSU queen basks in her national championship glory, Paul Skenes is also having his time in the MLB arena.

Paul Skenes, who has been a baseball player for LSU, has been drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Skenes was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. Last year his first pro appearance was quite impressive. He retired all three batters he faced for the Rookie-level Florida Coast League Pirates on that occasion.
In that outing, Skenes threw 11 pitches, eight of which he landed for strikes. out of the pitches, Skenes fired 10 fastballs that sat in the 99- to 101-mph range. He was also on fire a few weeks back during his Triple-A debut where he averaged 100.1 mph across 21 fastballs. Notably, a few days back, Livvy had posted a clip on Snapchat where she was found to resort to her mobile phone to catch Paul Skenes in action. We look forward to having more of such wholesome couple moments.
