Can Simone Biles' family support be the secret weapon for her Paris Olympics success?

The gymnastics gene runs deep in Simone Biles family, and there’s already a future Olympian in the making—her adorable niece, Ronni Biles, aka Baby Biles! This tiny tot took her first flight at just nine months old to cheer on her TT (that’s Auntie Simone) at the 2023 US Championships. Fast forward to a year and a half later, and she’s witnessed her aunt make history again, snagging three golds and one silver at the Paris Olympics, making Simone the most decorated US Olympic gymnast. Talk about having a superstar role model because that’s precisely how Ronni sees her aunt!

“POV: that feeling when you will be in Paris this week & going to the FREAKING Olympics to cheer on TT🥳🤪🥹😍” As soon as Sammi Biles—Simone’s sister-in-law—wrote this on Instagram with a video of Ronni admiring herself in a replica of the gymnast’s 2024 Core Hydration Classic leotard, we should’ve known it was a foreshadowing. Because anytime Ronni Biles is under the same roof as her TT, all she wants to do is follow in Simone’s footsteps. And why wouldn’t she, considering Baby Biles is a natural?

After the 2023 US Championships, Ronni’s mom, Sammi Biles—Simone’s sister-in-law—shared that the little one is a natural, just like her aunt. She started by mounting herself high on the rings in her crib. Ronni has been imitating Simone’s moves, tumbling and twirling, and even becoming the youngest elite WCC member, the gym owned by Simone’s parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles. So, the natural next step was to attend the Olympic Trials, where the one-year-old seemed to be having the time of her life (owing to Team USA’s dog, Beacon, just as much as her aunt), only to take the support up a notch at the Games.

Baby Biles took her first international trip to the City of Love to cheer her history-maker TT at the Paris Olympics. As Simone wrapped up her campaign on August 5, ESPNW reported on X, “Simone Biles’ niece has been wearing matching leos throughout the Paris Olympics 🥹🥰,” for each of Simone’s performances at the Bercy Arena. For reference, the 27-year-old had different leotards for all her events: the qualification round, the team final, the all-around final, and the vault, beam, and floor exercise finals. That’s six events, and Baby Biles matched her aunt in every single one.

From the Star-Spangled Shine leotard with rhinestone stars during the qualification round or the Go for Glory one with pearls and red, white, and blue stripes and stars for the team final. The black and blue one with red accents and blue and red rhinestones during the all-around final, to the striking red number Biles wore while performing her iconic Yurchenko double pike vault. And the beautiful white and blue leotard, laced with white rhinestones for the balance beam, to the black and red one she ended her campaign with, Baby Biles was her mini-me, joining Simone in the spotlight with these cute tributes.

Have an interesting take?

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time the one-year-old wore replicas of Simone Biles’ outfits. As mentioned earlier, Ronni wore the pink one her aut sported in the Core Hydration Classic, where Biles won gold medals in the team, all-around, floor exercise, and balance beam events. When Sammi originally shared the video of her daughter, she wrote, “POV: your toddler loves the mirror while trying on her new leotard,” also highlighting that she was “loving [Ronni’s] confident era.” The little one also sported a replica from Simone’s 2024 Core Hydration training camp, a gift from Cecile Landi.

Imagine having Simone Biles to look up to! Baby Biles is not just smitten; she’s inspired, and who knows? Maybe one day, she’ll be the one making history on the gymnastics floor. But do you know she’s already given gymnastics fans a taste of what that could be like?

Simone Biles’ sister-in-law teases Baby Biles’ Team USA gymnastics dreams!

On July 30, Simone Biles and Team USA, featuring Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, clinched the Paris Olympics team gold, completing their full-circle redemption journey! And who was their tiniest cheerleader? None other than Baby Biles herself—Ronni! Just hours before, Ronni and her mom, Sammi Biles, set the stage for what could be Ronni’s future.

Rocking the GK Elite Star-Spangled Shine leotard on her hotel room bed, Sammi imitated the voice of a stadium announcer, shouting, “And now, competing for the United States of America… RONNI BILES!” With a wide grin and twinkling eyes, Ronni raised her hands just like her TT, Simone Biles, saluted the make-believe audience, then giggled and plopped back down on her pillow.
