When in Baton Rouge, the yellow brigade of Auburn gymnastics appeared to see another fight in NCAA gymnastics, Jeff Graba sounded positive about having a learning experience. Continuing on that, the Auburn HC opined, “We’re looking forward to getting on the road. LSU has the most talent on paper in my opinion.” So on that line, the battle on Friday night tended to be high on energy. On the Auburn side, the most onus went on Gabby McLaughlin.

The senior class gymnast has one of the stellar runs on the beam exercise this season of NCAA gymnastics, averaging 9.892. Eventually, the night ended as the third-seeded NCAA gymnastics squad wanted, with a sound victory. But the Orange brigade didn’t disappoint its fans, as they had a lot to have fun with.

“Great night. Great atmosphere. We can’t thank the fans enough for coming here and selling this place out. That was a lot of fun,” Jay Clark confessed after their ultimate victory against the visitors. However, the full house of Baton Rouge and a concerted attack from the LSU packs couldn’t meek the Auburn Tigers in scoring 197.100, against LSU’s 198.300. Eventually, Suni Lee’s heightened squad of gymnasts posted their season-best score to oppose the home team. The NCAA gymnastics’ WarEagle boasted about the result on its X-handle, crafting a fitting paean. That mentioned paean held the tone in “Season-best road score for the Tigers!”

In such a motivated environment, Jeff Graba couldn’t stop at conceding about the learning cause. Rather, he cheered the achievement of the Auburn girls. “I thought the team fought well tonight in this environment,” he said. Moreover, the learned coach focused on the tough fight of his protégés even after having a “slow start”. But what didn’t happen in the last seven encounters for Auburn this season of NCAA gymnastics, this time that came out authentically?

The bright faces of NCAA gymnastics took the guard

On Friday night, the record score of 49.725 on the beam helped the LSU Tigers to move ahead. Against the battle-hardened LSU pack of gymnasts, Auburn could pose the NCAA gymnastics stars like Gabby McLaughlin and Sophia Groth. The duo posted 9.925 each. On the other hand, Olivia Hollingsworth and Cassie Stevens tried hard with their 9.875 scores. Eventually, they stopped inches short, at 49.450. For Groth, it was her highest score in this NCAA gymnastics season. Julianne Huff, the freshman, also went to her season-high 9.925 to throw a challenge in the vault event to the home team.

Among these gymnastic talents, the graduate student, Cassie Stevens, scored her fourth consecutive 9.9 score in the NCAA gymnastics in the vault. Combining all these motivated run-ins, the no. 12 NCAA gymnastics squad could have a smile, even in defeat. Their next battle is against Missouri on February 23 in Neville Arena.
