The Podium Training had some serious competition for Simone Biles in its store. Ahead of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, the artistic gymnastics roster has Simone on the top. However, her all-around score of 55.700 seems to be at stake now, especially hinting at the Cheng. In the code of the points, the Cheng vault is one of the most difficult after the YDP. For high-profile vaulters, achieving a triumph in these two is the biggest challenge. On the same note, Biles has a new rival who is making waves as her mock competition.

Jessica Gadirova, an 18-year-old English gymnast, screamed competition at the training event. Clad in a leotard representing Britain’s national flag, the phenomenal Olympic medalist flipped to make her mark. Ahead of the big game on September 30, and the 2024 Paris Olympics, the USA has a deserving rival. And, besides the top-tier five-member USA squad, the other nations are also on the lookout.

One vault medal dreamer got a shout-out from Gymnastics Now, earlier today. The video featured the budding gymnast Jessica Gadirova, taking the stance for flips. Within a fraction of a second, she landed like butter on a bread slice, looking confident as ever. Gymnastics Now captioned the post as, “An even better Cheng for her mock competition vault from Jessica Gadirova!” The English gymnast became the first world floor champion and has kick-started in the same vein ready to leave no stone unturned.

On the other hand, there’s the all-around reigning champion Simone. After breaking out the Cheng as her second vault at the Xfinity Champs, she looks hopeful for her second consecutive win. With the difficulty score advocated for higher than 6, female gymnasts get shaky at the sound of Cheng. Some years back, Simone did the impossible by notching up the Cheng with additional flips. So, for the World Championship medal aspirants, this vault is the first vault of choice.

Earlier today, one ‘X’ user commented on Simone’s Cheng crash landing on Cecile. Though a crash landing leaves injuries on the aircraft, Simone got saved ahead of her big game. Her training event witnessed a not-so-impressive vault routine. Moreover, several people didn’t stop from taking jabs at her for her ‘twisties’ history.

Scott Bregman wrote, “Simone got a little caught up on her twisting on the Cheng and goes, ?Lord have mercy!? to Cecile after landing it.” In spite of the fun factor the statement has, Simone has received major setbacks, resulting in a two-year hiatus. This time, she prioritized health over scores and looks forward to safe displays.
