The all-around Olympic gold medalist has set her eyes on the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is unfazed by the recent comeback announcement of two other gymnastics stars, Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas. Biles and Lee are already registered to compete in the U.S. Classic, while Douglas has petitioned to be allowed to compete in the meet. Sunisa Lee recently resumed training for the 2024 Olympics after a kidney problem forced her to abandon her college-level gymnastics career. She gave up on the NCAA Championships and the Southeastern Conference championships to dedicate herself to healing and treatments. Earlier this week, she posted an update on her Twitter account announcing, “I will not stop pursuing my dreams for a bid to Paris in 2024”.?Since then, two other gymnastic icons have declared their comeback. Both Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles are among the five American all-around Olympic gold medalists alongside Sunisa Lee.

Lee posted an Instagram video captioned, “still here,” reaffirming her contention. In the video, the Hmong-American gymnast was seen training on the uneven bars. This is her signature event, where she has scored a perfect score multiple times. She displayed incredible strength and precision, executing a flawless routine with grace and ease. With each swing and release, she showcased her unparalleled skill and undeniable potential to win despite the stiff competition from two returning legends.

A Strong Contender Amidst Gymnastics Icons’ Comebacks

Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles were both on a break. Simone suffered a loss of spacial awareness while making a complicated landing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which led her to withdraw from several events. Gabby, on the other hand, took a break from gymnastics after the 2016 Rio Olympics to focus on conquering her demons. Both athletes had mental issues which affected their performances and required them to take time off from the sport. Now all three of the legends are back to the sport, determined to compete in the Paris Olympics.
