Jordan Chiles is one of the most graceful and recognizable names introduced by the US Gymnastics?today. The 22-year-old started her career at the mere age of 12 and has constantly risen to earn the most prestigious of titles. From a team silver in the 2022 Worlds to a gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Jordan has let her presence be known in the field.

The year 2023 however wasn’t smooth sailing for the renowned gymnast. A stumble each at Worlds Selection Camp and Xfinity US Gymnastics National Championships was an unforeseen obstacle for Jordan. Nonetheless, missing out on Worlds did not pull Jordan back. With her score of 53.650 at Selection Camp, the gymnast made it to the Pan American Games;? proudly leading the team and the nation.

Jordan Chiles’ biggest supporter has a message

Ever since the Pan American Games marked the beginning in 1951, the United States hasn’t missed out on a single edition. As the exceptional stage opened on the 20th of October, team USA’s hundreds of athletes across the sports of athletics, swimming, gymnastics, and basketball, set foot in the arena. Leading this magnificent team in the opening was the notable gymnast herself.

A few days ago, team USA announced its flag bearers for the year. Among the two announced names was Jordan Chiles alongside shooter Vincent Hancock. As the opening Ceremony took off on Friday, Jordan Chiles’ mother and her biggest supporter, took to her Instagram story to drop a heartfelt note. The story carried an image of Jordan carrying the nation’s flag with a USA stash. “YOU are so authentic to who YOU are unapologetically…this picture says it all…I absolutely love you & am deeply proud of you. Take in it all. You deserve all of it…”?Gina wrote and ended with a heart.

The USA women’s gymnastics team has been a stellar presence in the Pan American Games with every passing edition. Going in this year, Jordan will hold the responsibility to continue the momentum.

Jordan aims to lead the roster for continued momentum

The US women’s gymnastics team has incurred an unbeatable record over the years at the Pan American Games. Starting in 2003, the team has earned 5 consecutive titles and 14 in total. This time around it will be Kayla DiCello, Kaliya Lincoln, Zoe Miller, Tiana Sumanasekera, and Jordan’s turn on the field.

The entry at the Pan American was a huge step for Chiles who faced obstacles not just on the field but outside as well. Earlier this year, the gymnast revealed to have had second thoughts about going to Paris 2024. The situation even forced Jordan towards a break. However, after returning from a trip with friends, the 22-year-old knew her ultimate goal. ?I?m very relaxed going into this. I?m doing whatever I can just to make sure that I?m okay within myself,? Jordan told Olympics.com.

Going in, exuding dominance in Chiles will be the primary goal for Jordan. Her performance will further help the gymnast in paving the way to win her spot back in the Olympics roster. The women’s team finals will begin on the 22nd of October continuing with the next rounds through the 25th for the apparatus finals.
