However, a recent video of a French-Algerian gymnast practicing a routine has already aired the speculation that a sequel of gymnastics’ GOAT may be in the making.
And it is not without reason. While Simone had to rise against her “Twisties”, the 16-year-old gymnast also had a battle to fight. She had grabbed worldwide headlines when she decided to represent Algeria instead of France. The French authorities refused to allow her to represent Algeria in gymnastics and to change her sports nationality. Finally, rising against all odds, she got to represent the North African nation. Apart from their off-court struggles, the skill of the gymnast as seen in a video, has left fans guessing if the next generation Simone Biles is already there!
The Next Gymnastics Sensation Emerges

The video was posted by Inside Gymnastics Magazine on their Instagram handle. In the video, Kaylia Nemour of Algeria is seen practicing her uneven bar routines. The caption of the video reads, “The next big thing for sure!” She looked absolutely flawless with the routine where she stuck to the mat as she landed from the bars. The African all-around champion’s journey in gymnastics was never easy, as she was declared age-eligible to participate at the highest level in 2022. However, the French national team’s doctor declined her request for participation later.

Consequently, she made the decision to compete for Algeria, her father’s homeland. But the French Gymnastics Federation again declined her request, even when the International Gymnastics Federation authorized her to change her nationality. Ultimately, a petition was filed to allow her to represent Algeria. The petition acquired more than 6,000 signatures, permitting her to represent Algeria. During these days, it was the fans and the gymnastics enthusiasts that supported the former French gymnast and the comment section of Inside Gymnastics Magazine video is evident proof.

Fans shower their love and support to the gymnast
It was those 6,000 fans and the other athletes who rallied behind the gymnast during her struggles to represent the nation of her choice, which later led to James Blateau, the President of the French Gymnastics Federation, letting her go to represent Algeria. In the video as well, fans have shared their heartfelt comments on the video. One fan wrote, “She literally connected every skill!!! And the hardest ones.”? One other fan compared her skills to the American GOAT Simone Biles and wrote, “She’s the bomb, Almost as good as Simone if not better,8 mean. She’s got the difficulty.”
