Simone Biles' Instagram move—A justified clap back or an overreaction?

“Not everyone needs a mic and a platform,” an eight-word message proves to be enough for a relationship that found its peak eight years ago in the Rio Olympics. On that occasion, Simone Biles announced her Olympic appearance wholeheartedly while MyKayla Skinner cheered her from behind. Simone Biles left the Rio Olympics with five medals, including a much-cherishing friendship with the latter. But now that friendship is on the red alert when Simone is up for her third Olympic contest.

The 27-year-old gymnast has found the latter’s recent words on the US Olympic gymnastics squad too hard to look away from. So, at first, she issued a strong message on her social media. Now, she has inched further.

The latest update shows, Simone Biles has unfollowed MyKayla Skinner from her Instagram handle. However, MyKayla Skinner pulled the trigger at first. She showed a straightway discomfiture on the lineup that includes Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, Hezly Rivera, Leanne Wong, and Joscelyn Roberson with Simone Biles.

MyKayla’s point of argument remained on the work ethics of the six gymnasts except that of Simone. “I feel like the talent and the depth just isn’t what it used to be. I mean, obviously, a lot of girls don’t work as hard. The girls just don’t have the work ethic,” she had mentioned. Naturally, being the team’s most notable face, the argument did not go well with Simone as now she is moving toward breaking her bond with her past teammate. Somewhere deep down in the turn of events, such an outcome was expected.

In the US Olympic gymnastics trials, the jury did not find anything wrong in the qualified gymnasts’ effort. Rather, regardless of the outcome, Suni Lee and the ilks found a lot of praise for giving a memorable show in the Target Center on June 29 and 30. Furthermore, gymnasts like Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello, and Shilese Jones left the platform with their heads held high and a standing ovation after their injury faces on the same trials. Still, in her argument, MyKayla Skinner claimed, “Not saying anything to the girls that got injured, but if I could come back, I think I would be able to do it. And I think I probably could’ve made that Olympic team.” Such beating on the air irked many names.

And as the events turned out, Jordan Chiles replied to the former world champion by unfollowing her. Later, Jade Carey and Suni Lee emulated the suit. Now, the list adds Simone Biles’ name. But not the gymnasts from the squad, several more names found MyKayla Skinner punching abruptly.

Simone Biles’ once Gold Over America mate is facing America’s heat

Simone Biles’ recent move displays that she has crossed a lot of distance from 2021 when she welcomed MyKayla Skinner in her Gold Over America tour. But MyKayla could have hardly thought about facing flak from every corner because of her statement. That streak of flak started from Jordan Chiles’ mother, Gina.

The proud mother displayed her expression on X as she said, “She really said that out loud and posted it. That’s something…”.  The steak extended with Kathy Johnson Clarke’s entry as the veteran indicated the unholiness of MyKayla’s comments.

In her unambiguous tone, the former Olympic gymnastics medalist penned, “My advice is to focus on all the positive and special aspects of the Five Phoenixes. Let the unpleasant ‘turd’ lie in its own stinkiness. If the owner won’t clean it up after being asked, acknowledge it for what it is and avoid it. If you’ve encountered it, wash it off.” Those words echoed in the communities in literal meaning as MyKayla faced almost zero support.

Ultimately, she had to come up with a narration and she did so on July 3. Swallowing a bitter pill, the 27-year-old put on her IG stories, “I feel like a lot of you guys had misinterpreted or misunderstood exactly what I was meaning or had said. I mean, a lot of the stuff that I was talking about wasn’t always necessarily about the current team because I love and support all the girls that made it and I’m so proud of them.” But, Simone Biles’ latest move shows that things are not done yet.
