Jordan Chiles is taking some leisurely time out after a fantastic Paris Olympics. Having helped her team win the prestigious gold medal, Chiles is currently gearing up for the Gold Over America Tour. In the middle of her busy schedule, she recently took time out to visit the WNBA game of the New York Liberty. Well, in what was a pleasant surprise for Chiles, the jumbotron during the Celebrity Row segment showcased highlights of her Olympic routines, celebrating the gold medal-winning moments she contributed to Team USA.

Moments later, the camera zoomed in on Jordan Chiles, who was visibly enjoying the excitement of the game. The New York Liberty’s gesture thrilled her mother, Gina Chiles, who shared the special moment on her Instagram story. She posted about her daughter being featured on the big screen, expressing her joy and pride. She captioned, “I can’t explain this moment The support for @jordanchiles has been beautiful. Thank you @nyliberty and &nike family. We love you NYC.” Such a comment from Gina Chiles comes amidst the ongoing controversy of Jordan Chiles’ bronze medal strip-off.

Back in Paris, competing in the individual floor finals, Chiles was awarded the third position after a successful on-field inquiry. However, once the Olympics were over, the Romanian team challenged the decision at the CAS. In a shocking verdict, Chiles was stripped off her bronze, citing the reason that Cecile Landi was 4 seconds late for submitting the inquiry. 

Thus, Chiles’ score was reinstated to the original one, paving the way for Romanian athlete, Ana Barbosu to win the bronze instead. Such a ruling immediately set off heavy controversies. Personalities like Simone Biles came to the aid of her teammate. Team USA also presented a video allegedly carrying the evidence that Landi was indeed, well within the stipulated time frame of 1 minute, as she submitted the query at the 47 seconds mark. 

However, in a shocking statement, FIG President, Morinari Watanabe stated that there was a serious lack of technology in the judging process. Such a statement made Gina Chiles visibly angry. Reacting to Watanabe’s comments, Jordan’s mother said, “This statement is a tragedy. ChatGPT would have done you wonders here.” Luckily, Jordan Chiles seems to be slowly getting over the tragedy. She was recently seen enjoying a MLB game before sharing a heartfelt moment with Sabrina Ionescu.

Jordan Chiles was recently spotted throwing the first pitch for the New York Mets. Turning up in a customized jersey number 23, the Olympian showed up at the Citi Field Stadium. This was a significant moment in Jordan’s life as she took a break from social media following her bronze medal controversy. Earlier, Jordan was also spotted in a Houston Astros game along with her BFF, Simone Biles. As Jordan and Biles were honored by the Astros, Gina Chiles posted her emotional side and wrote on Instagram, “Today I got emotional. Jordan and other Olympians were honored at the Astros game…but when she was announced… The crowd cheered so loudly. An ovation. Wasn’t expecting that. Thank you H-Town and @astros. That was beautiful.”

Continuing her happy tirade, Jordan met the New York Liberty star, Sabrina Ionescu. As the Liberty got the better of the Las Vegas Aces, Chiles and Ionescu posed for photographs after the game. In a heartwarming gesture, the duo bowed down to each other, before clicking the picture. The moment was posted on social media by the WNBA. It was captioned, “Greatness recognizes greatness.” Well, with Jordan Chiles seemingly moving on from the Olympics controversy, it remains to be seen how well she can make a comeback to the gymnastics mat in the future.
