An elite contest holding Simone Biles, but missing Jordan Chiles or vice versa? To every staunch gymnastics follower, that may be something hard to digest. Especially after Simone Biles’ return in 2023 in the US Classic, the duo has hardly headed into any gymnastics contest missing any of them. Fortunately, their camaraderie will continue in the Paris Olympics as both Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles have qualified in the all-around trials event. But what about after that?
Will they continue to feature together after that? Notably, Simone Biles is now 27 years old while Jordan Chiles is standing on 23. And anyone has yet to put a final call on the post-Paris chances. However, Jordan has given a view of what her position could be like four years later, when she will be her bff’s age. And to no one’s surprise, four years later, Los Angeles will host the Olympic Games. That leads to the question of her participation in that contest as well.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Jordan Chiles removed clouds from all those answers and added that she’s not sure of her continuation. Yes, the former world champion does not see an obvious possibility of her gymnastics return at the age of 27, the same age that is making Simone Biles chase glory. Additionally, while spilling on her chances to continue to her third Olympic, i.e., in the LA occasion, she subsequently added, “For ‘28, you never know.”

She might feature in any other sport, or she would continue with gymnastics. But a guarantee on that would be the last thing on her side. Her answer, “I’m not going to say what sport. You could still see me competing though, I’ll give you that,” points toward that direction only. And this is not the first time when Jordan Chiles has clarified that she can’t emulate all those things that Simone Biles carries out without feeling much pressure.
Simone Biles will enter the Paris Olympics, being the oldest American woman gymnast in the last seven decades. However, her age has been the last thing to be made into the discussion while the gymnast Simone Biles is celebrated. Moreover, her leadership skills in the national team have plenty of admirers including Jordan Chiles. As per Simone’s mate, that leadership skill holds so much ground that she can’t see any time to copy those.

Rather her humbling tone adds up, “I can give (advice on) what to do, what not to do, how to take care of yourself … but at the end of the day, I’m not Simone Biles who has done 850 world championships.” Meanwhile, in the LA Olympic year, Simone Biles will be 31 years of age- quite high from the perspective of gymnastics sport. Therefore, her chance of participation is quite bleak. That could be a factor in Jordan Chiles not opting for the sport four years later. But today she wants to relish her journey and holds Simone Biles in high esteem for that.
Jordan Chiles finds certain directions in Simone Biles’ presence
In her conversation with The Associated Press, Jordan Chiles spoke about finding interest in any other sport and her competitive nature. Nonetheless, in the past, she thanked Simone Biles for making her competent enough to channel her thought process toward that direction.

Just after their selection in the US Olympic gymnastics trials, the squad, including Simone and Jordan, threw themselves in the celebration. Especially, the latter’s gambol in the confetti displayed a view as if there’s no tomorrow. But before heading into the fun mode, Jordan asserted a few more things about her bonding with Simone. She mentioned that for Simone only, she could think about the value of being an athlete in the sport and importantly, being a human in life. Those admittances made the platform heavy with emotions. But Jordan Chiles continued with her statements.
Eventually, she thanked Simone Biles again for making her that much capable. The gesture filled out with words like, “I wouldn’t be in this position right now [without her]”. So, in the absence of her idol, Jordan Chiles might get less motivation in the LA Olympics. But she is the one who said, “You only have one life to live and we don’t have nine lives”. That should speak to her chance of trying out different sports to keep the x-factor unscratched in her life.
