Gymnastics is a sport that always thrills fans with its high-flying action. Since 1976, when the Romanian Nadia Comaneci recorded the first-ever perfect 10 with her jaw-dropping routine, gymnasts around the world strived to match her iconic legacy. With that in mind, many gymnasts have also attempted to come up with their own signature moves to become a memorable name among their peers. And now, Auburn Tigers’ Suni Lee is the latest entry to the list of gymnastics stars who have created unique new moves.

Only days ago, Suni Lee’s fans were taken by surprise by news of her injury while attempting the Jaeger move. With the incident happening dangerously close to the Winter Cup 2024, many speculated on the repercussions of the accident. However, based on the latest development, it looks like it is that very move with which Lee is hoping to be included in the sport’s high pantheon.

In its recent social media post, the official USA Gymnastics account shed more light on Suni’s electrifying new move on the uneven bars. Last month, the Olympic medalist stunned the world with her own take on the popular Jaeger move. With an additional twist added to the otherwise common routine, Lee looked to make it her signature move. With the Olympics coming up later this year, Suni Lee’s motivations looked greater than ever to perfect the skill.

According to the latest post, Lee’s new move has been assigned one of the highest difficulty values by USA Gymnastics. However, the International Gymnastics Federation is yet to announce its own value for the recently developed move of Suni Lee. “The layout Jaeger with a full twist on uneven bars has been awarded an H difficulty value by USA Gymnastics for domestic competition, reads the caption of the post.

The interesting aspect of the post lies in the fact that it is accompanied by images of a beaming Lee, evidently highlighting her contribution to bringing a whole new move to the world of gymnastics. With such acknowledgment from the country’s apex body, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the move being named after its inventor, and considering her long wait to get back into action, it only feels right!
