The US men’s gymnastics team has had a phenomenal year full of wins and accolades. To mention their most historical win, the recent 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship had witnessed them walk home with the team bronze. More for the medal drought ending event as Fred Richard, Khoi Young and Yul Moldauer kept their best forward. But who knew that there would be another contest as the perfect year-end?
Right after the men displayed at the Worlds, they snatched the team gold which they had lost to Brazil in 2019. But for the men gymnasts, 2023 hasn’t been over yet. Now, they’ve appeared with battle in their minds to compete with each other in a unique bout. Here’s what they’re fighting for.

USA Gymnastics has resorted to its Instagram handle to post, “Photo of the Year Nominees: Men’s Artistic.” With a plethora of some gorgeous snaps, USAG continued, “Team USA Men’s Gymnasts put the world on notice after incredible performances both Nationally & Internationally in 2023!” Any gymnastics fan would bet that no team had such profound coordination to make their individual scores count. In the Antwerp event, the talented men clinched their second team bronze since 2014 Worlds and 2008 Olympics.

Before the World Championships kicked off, three men looked in the eye and declared competition. The NCAA high bar and parallel bar champion Fred Richard had said, “When it came to getting noticed, I realized we’re not noticed. That’s why I ran so hard into social media.” As per his statement, the 19-year-old’s prominent social media participation to promote men’s gymnastics has clearly paid off. Undoubtedly, the gymnasts really rooted for the podium this time.

The men gymnasts had powerful notes ahead of the Worlds
Yul Moldauer, Asher Hong and Fred Richard were among the top contenders. But their strong messages for the fans were the ones stealing hearts. Asher Hong, who clinched his first national title with the US Xfinity National Championships all-around title, had said, “This year, we are on the come up. We are shooting for that podium.”

Not willing to step back, Yul Moldauer chimed in with his take on the superiority of gymnastics as a sport. He had said, “When you look at other Olympians in other sports, most of their backgrounds were, ‘I did gymnastics.’ Not only that, he had also added, “Whoever is going to follow us and be the true fans are really going to see something special with Team USA and the men’s program.” The men are girding up for the big 2024 Paris Olympics with hopeful eyes.
