After a weary few years of practice and matches, everybody needs a vacation or time off. Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee are two amazing gymnasts from the US. Although in different seasons, they have been in the all-around gold medal-winning teams.

Sunisa was part of the team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics whereas Simone won the gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Both the gymnasts are looking yet again to make a comeback after taking a break.

Simone Biles will be in Paris

After winning gold medals in the Rio Olympics, Simone Biles was all set to make a record in the 2020 Olympics. However, at the last moment, she withdrew her name from the 2020 Olympics due to mental health issues. Now, when the next Olympics is on the verge, Simone Biles’s presence remains a big question. Although she hasn’t begun training yet, she will be going all in once she starts.

She has been frequently asked about her participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics in multiple interviews. To which Simone replied, “I still have to heal mentally and physically. I will be in Paris, I just don’t know at what role — if that is an athlete or an audience member — so we’ll just have to see.”

Sunisa Lee is back to training

Sunisa Lee won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics women’s all-around event. She recently resumed her training sessions after taking the first vacation of her life. She is slowly starting to acquire her flow back into rhythm after vacation. Although Sunisa is not opening up with her plans completely, currently she is just focused on her training. 

When asked about her plans, she answered, “The plan is to go back to Auburn and compete another year. I think right now I’m just training, getting my body back into shape, having fun, doing fun skills and just kind of seeing where it takes me”. She further added, “I don’t really have a commitment to anything right now other than college gymnastics just because you never know how things can go.”

Both the players aren’t completely sure about their future projects. However, it can be seen that they are currently invested in managing the basics. Sunisa has started training to keep the flow, be in shape and have fun while enjoying gymnastics. On the other hand, Simone is still trying to heal mentally and physically to begin the training sessions with complete dedication.

Simone and Sunisa have begun their journey for 2024 in their own ways. Only time will tell what lies ahead but the future of American gymnastics is definitely in safe hands with such brilliant gymnasts in the squad.
