

With a hope to make all her experiences pay off, the US gymnastic young buck Skye Blakely will attempt to make it to the Paris Olympics team. While practicing a vault routine before the 2020 Tokyo Olympic trials, an injury forestalled her from making her dream team. At the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships, the 19-year-old was part of the gold-winning team. Despite not bagging an individual title at the Worlds, she got the motivational backing of her older counterparts.
Being one of the youngsters on the roster has naturally made her the apple of everyone’s eye. Besides Joscelyn Roberson, Blakely has garnered unconditional love for her skill sets on the mat. But now, she has everyone rallying for the newest deal she sealed. Let’s take a look.

Skye Blakely just did it
Resorting to her Instagram, the 19-year-old 2022 Pan-Am Championships floor bronze medalist secured a seat on the giant apparel brand Nike’s list. Entering into a partnership with the $150 billion brand was nothing but a joyous occasion for her. The caption says, “I feel so blessed to announce that I am an official Nike athlete! I’m so thankful for Nike for welcoming me into the family and for giving me this opportunity! @nike@nikewomen”, featuring her at the Nike headquarters.

Since daughter Jordan Chiles is also a Nike athlete, her mom Gina Chiles couldn’t hold herself back from commenting, “Congratulations & welcome to the fam!!”. Moving on, Jordan chimed in with her mom, sharing, “Welcome!! Beyond proud”. In 2023, the 22-year-old entered into a partnership with the billion-dollar brand alongside USA Gymnastics expanding its contract.

Under Blakely’s post, Roberson, just a year younger than the former, wrote, “SO COOOL!!!”. Chiming in, another gymnastic great Trinity Thomas, one of the most successful NCAA gymnasts, extended love, writing, “Okayyy yesss” with a heart-eyed and a fire emoji. “It was my first year senior, I was competing with older people that I just only watched, so it was a different cool experience. I feel like it taught me a lot, how to compete with different levels of gymnasts, and I think I really needed that going forward [to]… bigger competitions, “ Blakely said to Olympics.com. The finesse and skill sets she’s gained vis-à-vis Tokyo will keep her in good stead now in Paris.

Always sporting a bubbly nature, the 19-year-old’s main goal is to enjoy gymnastics before running for the titles. “My long term goal is, of course, the 2024 Olympics. “I’ve always been striving for that,“ said the strong-hearted youngster who has a fair chance of entering the gymnastic ring in 2024.
