However, when she dropped out of the U.S. Classic, it was shocking for her fans. The gymnastics community is abuzz with news of major comebacks. From Simone Biles to Gabby Douglas and Sunisa Lee, some big names are back on the mats. Simone Biles recently announced that she will be competing at the U.S. Classic. While Jones was also going to star in the event, plans got changed last minute.

Fans were devastated, worried about their favorite gymnast. The 21-year-old gymnast has caught the hearts of millions with her skills. The World Champion has also recently expressed her wish to shine at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Hence, the withdrawal from the event was even more worrisome. After withdrawing from Simone Biles’ comeback event, Jones is back in the gym

A recent TikTok uploaded by Shilese Jones revealed her back in the gym for an extensive gymnastics session. Jones was out on the mats for beam practice. In the clip, she was seen along with Shania Adams, who is also an elite American gymnast. Shilese Jones captioned the TikTok as, “BEAM VLOG !” Jones also showcased some younger athletes trying their hand at the beams. She then proceeded to amaze her followers with some flawless beam routines.

Her skills are what have captured the hearts of her fans. It is also a reason why they were waiting to see her alongside greats such as Simone Biles at the U.S. Classic. However, a Tweet posted by the official Twitter handle of USA Gymnastics broke the news that Shilese Jones had withdrawn. The Tweet read, “#CoreClassic Update: Shilese Jones will not compete at the Core Hydration Classic. We look forward to seeing her at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in San Jose.” No specific reason has been offered for her withdrawal.

Nonetheless, according to her latest update, she is doing absolutely fine and training hard for the events to come. Jones has achieved some marvelous milestones in the past. After all, she is the 2022 World Team champion and all-around & uneven bars silver medalist. Her stans might not be able to watch her against others making a comeback, but she will set the mats on fire once again. Till then, there are other gymnasts to watch out for at the upcoming events in the sport.

The comeback event of the season

The biggest news of a return to competitive gymnastics was no doubt that of Simone Biles. The 4-time Olympic gold medalist had a worrying exit from the Tokyo Olympics after she announced she wanted to take a break and work on her mental health. It’s been a while since Tokyo, but Simone Biles was silent on any rumors about a comeback. Though, not anymore. She finally announced she will be competing at the U.S. Classic. Since then, Simone Biles has also been updating her fans with videos of her routine on social media.

Another Olympian making a comeback is Sunisa Lee. For her, Tokyo was the last elite competition as well. For the last two seasons, Lee has been competing in the NCAA. A kidney-related health issue resulted in an abrupt pause in her career. She, however, still plans to qualify for the 2024 Games. Gabby Douglas has also put in a bid to qualify for Paris. It will be interesting to see who makes the U.S. Team for the Games.
