The Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medalist Suni Lee had several treasures to unlock in her comeback season. But her recent Winter Cup 2024 was not up to the mark, followed by the Selection Camp decline. She finished 13th on the balance beam and 26th on the bars, very unlikely for a gymnast of measure. Her kidney-related complications have played a major role in striking her out of the podium this time. But she’s vying for another soon.
The American Classic, set to stage powerful maneuvers from April 25-28, is looking forward to having Lee on the roster. The event will act as a springboard for the US Gymnastics Championships. That will further act as a qualifying event for the Olympic trials in June. So, naturally, the gritty athlete is not sitting quietly, since she also has to earn a skill name.

Before she stepped foot on the Winter Cup 2024, her statements looked strong in an interview with Olympics.com. “I’m in remission right now, so I’ve just been getting it under control and starting to work up into routines and getting ready for the season”, said Lee. It can be asserted that the Olympian’s health journey has taken a turn for good, while she’s also focusing on self care.

“I think that’s one thing about this year, I’ve really learned to prioritize my well-being and just making sure that everything that I’m doing is adding to my life, not really taking away”, said Lee to E! News. She has been focusing on therapy, journaling, and things that give out positive vibes.

Training for eight hours a day and surviving on a super healthy diet had played well for Suni Lee. “I’ve been doing a lot of physical therapy and try to keep my body as healthy as possible”, conceded the Olympian. Since a big season awaits, being in good shape holds the most importance to the 20-year-old.
