Laurie Hernandez had a fulfilling career in gymnastics, clinching medals with her spectacular performances. The 2x Olympic medalist has not, however, limited herself to a particular niche. And the interesting part is she never had a plan for it all. However, Hernandez brings exuberant enthusiasm and strength in navigating different fields.

Exploring life after gymnastics, she is making numerous appearances on TV shows. It probably comes from her studies in drama, instilling in her the confidence to face her audience. Recently, she took to her Instagram to post a clip from her theatre performance.

Laurie Hernandez’s Instagram story created a sensation among her fans as she shared a picture that appeared to be a stage performance. The picture featured a caption that reads the famous line from the second scene from Act 2 of Macbeth, “Look on’t again I dare not.”

Seemingly, Hernandez is playing the iconic role of Lady Macbeth in the play, paired opposite of Dhruv Nair, as she mentions in the post. Nair also hails from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Hernandez has recently wrapped up her freshman year at the University, pursuing a course in drama. Not only this, she intends to pursue a minor course in creative writing. Thus, her role in Macbeth is a part of her curriculum, on account of her drama studies.

Acting was always on the horizon for Hernandez

Laurie Hernandez dazzled audiences with her performances during Dancing with the Stars season 23. Dancing gracefully with clean moves is one of the former gymnast’s many talents. However, her newfound passion is circumscribed to the field of acting. “Acting and just the world of entertainment is definitely on the horizon for me,” Hernandez had remarked when brainstorming regarding life beyond sports.

At present, Hernandez is navigating through her normal, serene life at NYU. Talking about it, she adds that while she received a lot of attention at the start, she became a part of the crowd in less than a week. “That’s exactly what I wanted. I’m not a gymnast when I’m at school, I am just me and I’m just trying to learn like all the other kids,” she further adds.

Thus, in her post-Olympic era, Hernandez is ready to branch out her capabilities to live her life with full zest and fierceness. And, theatre paves the path for it.
