After months on the road for the 33rd Olympic Games and the second Gold Over America Tour, Jordan Chiles is finally making her NCAA return. Looking to turn her AA silver to gold this time around, the 23-year-old UCLA star has been getting ready for the collegiate comeback for some time already. And now, it looks like she’s up for making a few sacrifices along the way too!
The Paris Games were a whirlwind of emotions for Jordan Chiles. Winning gold with Team USA was a triumphant highlight for the Washington native, but the controversy surrounding the floor exercise bronze medal left her reeling. Through it all, her family provided unwavering support, standing by her during the highs and the lows. Now, as Jordan prepares to return to collegiate competition, she faces another emotional challenge—once again leaving her family behind to pursue her passion and continue her remarkable gymnastics journey.

Jordan Chiles isn’t going to let petty luxuries old her back
In June last year, Chiles took to social media to make a special announcement: she brought her parents a lavish new home in Houston worth $1.5 million. But now, her latest Instagram story from December 1 hints that she’s about to leave all the luxury behind on her way back to the Bruins locker room. Captioned, “Love moving!!!” the social media update shows several packing boxes piled on the floor. Moreover, it seems like the boxes are already opened up and their contents taken out.

Considering how her college is far away from her family home in Houston, one would deem that UCLA’s responsibilities have once again prompted Jordan Chiles to get her stuff in the boxes and find herself a new place to reside for her remaining college years. Revealing about the house purchase last year, Chiles commented, “I’m speechless. Bought a house for my mom & dad and me while I’m in H Town. Family is everything to me. I dreamed of this one day.”
But now, with the NCAA title once again being on the top of Chiles’ priority list, it would look like she’s not hesitant to cut a few corners on her pursuit. But her family, like always, would be the first ones to extend their support for Jordan, whatever her decision might be.

There are no two ways to support the Olympian for her family members
The Olympic drama involving, Chiles and Romania’s Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Voinea made ripples within the gymnastics community for months even after this year’s quadrennial tournament was over. Chiles was initially awarded the bronze in the women’s floor exercise, but just five days later, was notified to hand it over to Barbosu. Citing a delay in her raised inquiry, the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports) announced that Jordan, in fact, was placed fifth, behind the two Romanians. The controversial decision created a whirlpool and the community was split. And yet, amidst all the clamor, the Olympian’s family remained unwavering with claims of an unfair verdict.

Jordan’s mom Gina was further saddened by how Simone Biles’ BFF was being targeted by harsh comments. And yet, Jordan bounced back soon despite the criticism and claimed that the less demanding environment of the NCAA compared to the Olympics would be a welcome change. But Gina, on the other hand, still isn’t over her disgruntled mood.
With Jordan preparing for her college return, her mom has been clearing out the gymnast’s wardrobe to make room for other, and possibly new, stuff. With the desire to make something fruitful out of it, Gina made a group on social media where her daughter’s old leotards are being sold to interested fans. And even there, she’s in no mood to kid around. “She has more medals than you have teeth, so there’s that,” the senior Chiles lady reminds people without beating around the bush. How do you think this sort of support would see Jordan blooming flowers at the collegiate scene this time? Tell us below!
