Trinity Thomas made the happy announcement that she will return to elite sports. The former Florida Gator has already shown that she can balance college gymnastics and elite championships’ demands. Thomas was last seen in an elite competition in 2019 when the gymnast competed in the U.S. championships. She performed very well and placed ninth in the overall rankings. Her best performance to date in an elite championship was in the U.S. Nationals, where she secured the fourth rank.

In an exclusive interview with Inside, Thomas recently revealed that she has been training hard and is excited to compete in the upcoming Olympics. She said it would be her last attempt at making it through the challenging selection process.

Trinity Determined To Secure a Spot in the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team

When Trinity first joined the gymnastics team at the University of Florida, she felt insecure about her herself. However, five years later, with three NCAA Championship trophies under her belt, Trinity has proven herself to be a formidable athlete. She admitted that she loves gymnastics and wants to make a name for herself in the sport. Therefore, she has decided to pursue a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.

Thomas is aware that she will be going up against legends like Sunisa Lee and Simone Biles. Both athletes have previously won gold medals in the Olympics. She spoke to Olympics.com and said, ?It?s one of the hardest teams to make?. There is immense pressure on her, but she is looking at the challenges in phases. Thomas wants to slowly build her foundation and perfect her skills before taking on the top competitors.

She also spoke about her growth and that she was more confident now than when she first started competing at the college level. The 22-year-old gymnast wants to give her best and not worry about, “Oh, am I going to make the team?” For her, this success matters more than any previous title she has won.

Trinity Thomas Takes on the Ultimate Challenge Of Her Career

Thomas had sustained an ankle injury just before the 2020 Summer Olympics. She did not give up on her dreams and instead diverted her attention to the NCAA Championships. The great athlete won the title of NCAA all-around in 2022 and also made a record as the only other individual gymnast with the maximum number of perfect scores.

Thomas revealed in the same interview that ?Success is so much more than any title?. She was recently injured once again in her lower leg and had to pull out early from the NCAA Regional Championships. Thomas was worried that she might lose her chance to compete for the Olympic team selection. However, after several months of staying at a rehab facility, she is raring to go. We hope that this legendary gymnast gets one chance to fulfill her dream.
