In several turns, Michael Phelps appeared as the perfect cheerleader for the NFL team in the past. However, in golf, the 38-year-old still dons a participant’s outfit. Just like his swimming spree from Team USA, the 23x Olympic champion represented Team USA in several golf tournaments. However, recently, a question sparked regarding his inclusion in a celebrated golf battle. 

The 8 AM Golf Invitational comes with a bigger message to showcase the camaraderie among golfers and promote growth in the industry. In line with this spirited representation, Michael Phelps has recently announced his participation.

Michael Phelps returns to take revenge 

Michael Phelps dropped a cryptic IG story yesterday regarding his participation in the 8 AM Golf Las Vegas Invitational. After sharing the golf enthusiast, Jeff Fujimoto’s IG story, Phelps penned down comically, “Gonna try to NOT take out @michellewiewest knees”. It was the jubilant reply to Fujimoto’s jibe in the story, “I know MP is ready for VEGAS!” The IG story also displayed Michael Phelps standing in front of his picture on a signboard, set up somewhere with all other fellow participants. Eventually, with the 8 AM Las Vegas Invitational, the Baltimore Bullet nurtures a firm connection. 

Hosted by Wynn Las Vegas collaborating with Justin Timberlake, the annual golf tournament aims at giving out a space to bond between the golfers. Moreover, a charity course always shares a major limelight, being the driving force. This year, among the participants, both Michael Phelps and Michelle Wie West formed a spectacular formation. However, the trophy went to Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. However, they will have to face staunch opposition next time, as Michael Phelps will be coming for a payout! Meanwhile, with golf, the swimmer’s connection dates back too long. 

The cherished love for golf 

Michael Phelps’ golf prominence received a different height after his 159 ft putt became viral. That was a majestic shot he inflicted in the 2012 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. After that, Phelps made it into several golf championships including this year’s ICON series golf tournament where he represented Team USA. Riding on such notched-up representation, Team USA earned the top spot there. So in earning such honor, Michael Phelps had also gone through a preparation. 

In a conversation with golf. com this year, the American legend confessed about keeping the same trainer, Keenan Robinson, from his swimming spree to continue his fitness training at this level. Eventually, he nurtures the same goal in golf as he used to in swimming – to reach the pinnacle. “It’s going to take a lot of energy. And that’s something that I’m excited to do, because that’s what I did in order to accomplish the goals that I did in the sport of swimming,” he claimed in that conversation.
