Any athlete worth his salt desires to earn global fame through a triumphing presence at the Olympics. Donning the five multi-colored rings is a dream for any athlete. For a long time, NFL players were kept from participating in the Olympics, however, that changed during the recent IOC meeting. The Olympic committee has decided to include flag football in the 2028 Games, giving the players and fans what they have desired for many years.

Besides eyeing the bling of the bejeweled Super Bowl rings this season, he has also set his sights on decking himself with gold in 2028. Flag football is among the five new additions that will hold centerstage in the 2028 Summer Games. Travis Kelce wants to utilize this opportunity and win his first Olympic gold medal before the home crowd in Los Angeles. Flag football is very different from the sport Kelce is accustomed to playing in the NFL and will need to adapt his skill sets to match the no-contact nature of the game. However, there is one more hurdle in his path.
The 34-year-old American soccer player believes he will be too old to play in his prime form. But he can rely on his friend Rob Gronkowski to support him. During the podcast with brother Jason Kelce, he said, “Me and Gronk are the same age, so we’re all gonna be in the same boat in that regard,” as per Mail Online reports.
Rob Gronkowski, Tyreek Hill, Micah Parsons, and AJ Brown are preparing for their first Olympics. Travis Kelce has been making huge waves in each of the Chief games. With a solid support system in his personal life from rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift, Kelce is ready to take the plunge. Despite his enthusiasm, he does not believe he can safely make the team as a player.

Travis Kelce unsure of his place on the U.S. Olympic team
The NFL standout believes that age will be a major factor in the fulfillment of his Olympic dreams. Not just him but also Gronkowski, who he believes “gonna be long gone” by 2028. American football is a demanding sport and requires copious amounts of stamina. Therefore, the prospects of success decrease as a player progresses in age. By the time the 2028 Olympics rolls into the U.S., Travis Kelce believes he will be past his prime. During the podcast, he said, “I think we’re all just gonna be assistant coaches or some s***”.

However, he has not given up hope just yet. Still relentless for the canonical victory, he said, “But I need a f****ng gold medal, so I need to be on that roster somehow or someway”. NFL executive Peter O’Reilly has started discussions with the player’s union to come up with a solution to Kelce’s problems. He means to allow former and current players to reach for the Olympic gold in 2028. Will Travis Kelce fulfill his dream, or will age prevent it?
