The impact of global warming is raising alarming issues all across the world. In times like these, it was vital for giant tech companies to contribute their bit to environmental protection. Hence, in January 2023, a multinational conglomerate, Panasonic, launched its Green Impact campaign with the three-time world champion Nathan Chen.

Recently, the figure skater proudly shared an impactful sustainability-driven video pledging to change the planet for the better. Moreover, he was featured alongside the most decorated Olympic swimmer Micheal Phelps and four-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka. He also added his views about the noble global initiative. Nathan Chen urges the world to pay attention to the deteriorating environment

There have been multiple reports of global warming affecting outdoor skating rinks. Definitely, it creates a major problem for figure skaters like Nathan Chen. Hence, in his latest Instagram video, the ten-time Grand Prix medallist created awareness of the importance of working for a sustainable planet.

He expressed his views on environmental protection stating, “It takes all of us to make a change. Proud to work with @panasonic alongside @m_phelps00 and @naomiosaka to create a more sustainable world. #GREENIMPACT” The figure skater also received a response from Micheal Phelps who wrote in his post, “Let’s make a change!! #teamwork”

According to the Green Impact campaign, athletes Nathan Chen, Noami Osaka, and Michael Phelps aim to raise awareness about the environmental challenges that the world faces today and encourages everyone to come together and become the champions of sustainability.

Tech giant Panasonic and the Olympics have been sharing a trusted relationship since the Olympic Games in 1984 in Los Angeles. That year, the tech giant supplied professional sound systems and large video displays for the main stadium. In 1987, it became a Worldwide Olympic Partner after it joined the TOP Programme as a charter member.

Moreover, last year Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky teamed up with Panasonic for a STEM Forward Program that focused on bridging the gap between maths, science, and swimming. It took place at the Eliot-Hine Middle School, where after demonstrating a presentation, Ledecky talked about the connection between swimming and STEM. After an educational trip, she shared a glimpse of the wonderful session stating “science and swimming go hand in hand!” Panasonic seems to join hands with the big names of the Olympics. Their fan following and outreach can be fruitful in the long run to create awareness in the world.
