However, months later, he withdrew from the 2022 World Championships due to an injury. The American star suffered a nagging injury that he didn’t want to aggravate. Recently, he provided an exciting update for his fans.
Nathan Chen hoping to return to action
Earlier this year, the 23-year-old took a break from competitive figure skating to complete his education at Yale. However, recently he has hinted about making a potential return to the sport.
Talking about this, Chen said, “It’s an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life [competing in the Olympic Games]. So I would love to have another opportunity to do that.”
Further, he went on to add, “But right now, of course, my focus is on getting through school which is taking up the bulk of my time. Once I finish that, I’ll spend a little more time and decide where I’m at from a skating perspective.”
If all goes well, Chen will likely participate in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic games. The XXV Olympic Winter Games is scheduled to take place from February 6-22, 2026.
Chen lauds his team
Chen was in awe of his team and was all praises about them. The 23-year-old said, he would not have been able to achieve what he has without his team, as he says they “helped me get to where I am now.”
