Brian Boitano recently turned 60 years of age. He was a sight to behold in his chosen arena. Boitano graced the skating rink. One would be hard-pressed to find anyone who knew of him during his heyday and hated him presently. Boitano won the gold in figure skating during the 1988 Olympics in Calgary. He beat Canadian skater Brian Orser to the coveted medal.
Brian Boitano edged out Orser 5-4. Five judges voted for Boitano and four for Orser to break the tie in the final phase of the competition: the free skate. According to Olympics.com, Boitano said, “I almost felt guilty feeling great. I tried to hold it back, so me feeling great wouldn’t make him feel worse.” They were both on friendly terms.

Brian Boitano took to Facebook to share pictures of all the birthday cakes he received on his 60th birthday. He was at the St. Regis Hotel in the Egyptian capital. Boitano added the words, “Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I’ve had a great day with 5 birthday cakes. Shout out to the St. Regis Cairo for the awesome 1988 Olympics Birthday cake they made me. And don’t worry, I’m being safe. Will share more updates soon.”
Brian Boitano promised further status updates from Egypt and affirmed his safety for the moment. The fans were glad to receive that message. The pictures of the five cakes received a flood of likes. Everyone joined in to wish Brian Boitano a happy birthday. Many of them hoped that he enjoyed himself and the five cakes on offer. One fan reminisced about the time her son had met Boitano. She recalled how sweet he was on that occasion and thanked him for the same.

The fan who met Boitano years ago, wrote, “Happy Birthday, Brian. Years ago, you were so sweet whenever you ran into my young son who was skating. You deserve all things great!”
Another fan quipped there was a cake representing each of the five Olympic rings. She wrote, “Five cakes for the 5 Olympic rings?!?! Happy Birthday again and enjoy the rest of your trip and stay safe.”

Yet another fan referred to the wonderful memories she had thanks to Boitano. She wrote, “Happy Birthday Brian! May you have many more blessed days. You have brought joy into so many lives and I loved watching you skate and cheering you on.”
Lastly, one fan commended Boitano’s technique on the skating rink and reminisced about watching him in action. She wrote, “I remember you back then, skating beautifully. You have always been my favorite skater!!! Your technique was really exceptional and your moves were thrilling!!! Have a great Birthday today.”
