The excitement over another victory in Ohio has been growing, and @NBCOlympics has added to the excitement by tweeting a video from Levito’s 2023 national title victory. The video was accompanied by the caption, When you win your first national title at age 15. Ahead of this year’s national championships, we’re looking back to when Isabeau Levito became the 2023 U.S. women’s figure skating champion.

Levito, who trains in Mount Laurel and hails from Mount Holly, has had an incredible journey to join the list of best figure skaters in the world. She won the Grand Prix of France and placed second at Skate America, among other significant events. The Grand Prix Final, however, proved difficult because of a choppy short program that resulted in a fifth-place finish. Despite setbacks, the errors were instructive and helped prepare for a better showing at the next nationals.

Without letting the scores get in the way, Levito is determined to give a fantastic performance as the 2024 U.S. Figure Skating Championships will determine who will represent the country at the global championships in Montreal. She almost missed the podium at the 2023 Worlds, but her persistent hard work made her a strong competitor at the national level.

The 18-year-old from Montclair, New Jersey, Lindsay Thorngren, has been Levito’s longtime rival. Although Levito has remained well ahead in their battle, Thorngren’s recent achievements, such as a silver at the NHK Trophy in Japan, point to a possible change in the balance of power.

A fierce matchup between Levito, Glenn, and Thorngren is left open by the absence of competitors like Bradie Tennell, an Olympian and two-time U.S. champion, who is recovering from a broken ankle, and Ava Marie Ziegler, who is concentrating on the Four Continents competition. The rising star in the figure skating world continues to keep the community impatiently anticipating the results of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
