Ever since a horse is foaled, its responsibilities are taken over by a trainer who then breeds him and turns him into an active gelding before he turns 4. When ‘Moses’ was foaled, he soon became a barn favorite. His father was Pine Hill Beethoven, a parade horse of fine nature, someone who made his owner proud and joyous in training him. His son, Moses has also always been faithful to his owner. In fact, he did every single activity that he was trained to do without throwing any fuss of any kind.

It was a cold day in April 2019, and Moses was born to his father Pine Hill Beethoven, and his mother, a registered foundation-bred mare, JJ Hanks Jackie Toad. Consigned by Cody & Robin Scherbarth, Moses is currently a 4-year-old gelding who would make any equestrian happy.

A Facebook post by Robin Scherbarth went, “I knew this horse was special from the moment he was born, 4 years of love, training, and dedication led to this moment”. Moses was special to his owner and the entire farm from the moment he was foaled. In no time, Moses would turn out to be the most faithful gelding that any owner can hope for.

His owner told Legend Buttress Unlimited about Moses, “Moses is a home-raised gelding with a personality larger than life… he has been a joy to own ever since”. Moses was foaled, raised, bred, and fed in the nicest and the most gentle of manners. In return, in the first four years of Moses’ life, he behaved like an obedient domesticated animal.

“Rain, Snow, Sun or Wind-it doesn’t matter he rides just the same,” told his owner. But Moses was put to an important task of getting mother cows to the barn and bringing calves in. He performed the task emphatically. He would even detect the cows as per their body heat, as any equine could, and pair them out accordingly.

Moses is a large gelding whose height ranges up to 15.2 hands but is in no way shape or form clumsy or dull. He is an athletic, agile horse of the breed Percheron and Quarter Horse Cross. It comes from his parents.

He has always been loyal to his master

Moses’ father, Pine Hill Beethoven, was a Registered Percheron, whose owner said about him, “smartest stud I’ve ever trained”. However, the fact that Moses, despite being so big is still very athletic has to do with him being very light on his front end. He gets that from his Quarter Horse mother, which allows him to easily roll over his hocks. This incredible quality combined with his gait would allow him to catch up to any cow or calf at any speed. He would never get outrun.

Moses’ dedication towards his task and loyalty to his owner was paramount. As history suggests, Wonder Horse once changed his fortunes from being a killer horse to making it to Hollywood, it is only a testament to what a horse can achieve if they are trained in the right way. They will repay every debt in the most triumphant fashion as Moses did.
