The upcoming Delaware Oaks race promises to be an exciting equestrian event. A competition where speed, stamina, and strategy will all come into play in order to win the ultimate prize of $300,000. Among the 10 competitors fighting for the top spot, one filly has emerged as a force to be reckoned with. And she is being trained by none other than, famed trainer Todd Pletcher.

2006 was a career-defining year for Pletcher. He broke the record for the single-season marks for stakes wins, graded stakes wins, and earnings. With a net worth of $12 million, Pletcher is back, with Siena Farm and WinStar Farm’s Miracle who is being hailed as a clear favorite to ace the Grade 3 Delaware Oaks at Delaware Park this Saturday. With a proven track record, Miracle will be one to watch on the Delaware Park circuit.

Looking back at her seven career starts, the New York-bred daughter of Mendelssohn has rarely disappointed. With consistent performances throughout her young career, the filly boasts of a win, four seconds, and one third. She has only been out of the money once and earned $229,675 over the course of seven career starts. Pletcher who won the Delaware Oaks in 2006 with Adieu asserted to Paulick Report“She is training very well coming into the race. She is very consistent and she should like the track.”

What really sets Miracle apart from other racers is her unwavering consistency. The young filly has already had three starts in 2023. In February, she came in second in the 1 1/16 mile Grade 2 Rachel Alexandra at the Fair Grounds. She followed up this strong performance with a fifth-place finish in April in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Oaks. Most recently Miracle showed her elegance in May by finishing second in the New York state-bred Bouwerie Stakes at Belmont Park.

Come Saturday, Trevor McCarthy will ride Miracle with the hope of a pole position finish. McCarthy previously won the Delaware Oaks in 2014 with Fortune Pearl. Her record speaks for herself, but come Saturday, 9 more racehorses would be going head to head with Miracle.
