Nothing screams posh, luxury, and lavishness, like owning and living in an equestrian estate. However, owners often list their estates up for sale, possibly due to upkeep costs or simply because of a lack of maintenance or even relocation. The latter was the reason behind renowned fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger’s ex-wife selling their equestrian estate up in Connecticut. The lavish estate spread across 20 acres, was sold at a price less than half of what it was originally listed for.

Susie Hilfiger, the ex-wife of Tommy Hilfiger, purchased this estate way in 1995 when they were together. The multi-millionaire couple got divorced in 2000, and Susie Hilfiger took sole ownership of it. Now, as she decides to move away to the West Coast with her kids, she didn’t even hesitate to sell it at a slashed price.

Susie Hilfiger and Tommy Hilfiger were a power couple back in the mid-90s. They had already started a family and were eyeing this luxurious equestrian estate in the vibrant neighborhood of Greenwich, Connecticut. Connecticut is home to several plush equestrian estates, including the RedGate Farm which comprises 60 stalls and was also once sold for $15 million. The $450,000,000 million worth fashion designer bought the estate Denbigh Farm for $8.5 million then, with his wife. However, 5 years down the road, when things started to get a little sour between the two, Susie Hilfiger got sole custody of the estate.

So more than two decades later, when Susie Hilfiger sold it at the price of water, it was big news in the real estate world. The lush estate, though, has everything a new buyer can wish for, and getting it for $15 million is a massive grab. As per Dailymail UK, it comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, and checkered floors, and spans about 14,000 feet. It has a circular parlor with navy shelves adorned with photos and trinkets. Brightened with lights, antiques add added taste to the rooms.

As per Wall Street Journal, the 14,000 square feet area comprises 7 bedrooms, of which 3 are – Flower-arranging room, silver storage room, and cold-storage meat locker. The horse riding facilities include a barn where 6 horses each have a barn, three padlocks, and a riding ring. besides its namesake equestrian facilities, it also boasts a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a special guest house. One of the dressing rooms is also decorated in pure pink hues and has multiple closets in it for storage. Another eye-catcher is the huge dining table which can comfortably seat 12 and host lavish parties. The floral wallpaper also complements the huge rug tolled out on the floor. All of these amenities demanded a higher selling price for the estate, and that was the case in 2021 when it was first listed.
