As reported by Blood Horse, New York Thunder, the 3-year-old colt, delivered a performance of a lifetime at the Saratoga Race Course when he took home the victory in the Grade II Amsterdam Stakes. Surprisingly, this was just the fourth start of his career, and what a way to win the race! With this win, he posed a potential threat and a competition to the Elite Power in upcoming Grade I races. This is the fourth straight victory for the New York Thunder. The Amsterdam Stakes was his first race beyond six furlongs and was also his first attempt on the dirt.
Despite all of these challenges, he made his way to the top of this 6 1/2-furlong race in no time. He left behind his closest challenger, Drew’s Gold, and claimed the victory by an impressive 7 1/2 lengths. He also set fast fractions and finished in 1:14.65, just shy of the track record. He seems to be carrying on the legacy of his father, who had multiple grade I stake on his name.
